Wow, pretty varied poll for once. After some of the comments you guys made, I should've put an option for "All of the above". Well, as you can see, most people dislike the long drawn out plots. I wonder...if it's a long series but the plot ISN'T long and drawn out, would you still like it?

We, in Russia, can probably find manga only in some Japanese teaching universities' libraries, local libraries don't even have money to buy new books
but would accept everything people are willing to give away.

My library only adds books by request. Since most people in my town don't even know what manga is, you can understand that the small "graphic novels" section is only filled with useless manga like Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, and DBZ.

I do go to the library. I went 3 weeks ago...

My library actually got some manga, like Blade of the Immortal, DragonBall, Ranma 1/2 and Akira. Prefer BotI though <3

And for real books, I'm variating between four books atm, two by Dan Brown and two by John Grisham (: Don't assume that all manga readers are totally devoted to manga, and never consider books ;D

Ya, my library is similar. And you can request a lot of the stuff online before you even go into the library. So you don't even need to go searching the shelves. You can queue it all up, and when it is all at the library, you get a message saying "come pick up your stuff". They don't have everything. But, its actually a suprisingly large amount.

Also in a city and also have a great library that buys manga (actually picked up Hot Gimmick when I asked for the later books), but our inter-loan system is wonky. We can't request online by volume, have to do with with a librarian, and lately most of the branches won't lend their titles out. Only other qualm is that my library is eccentric-very random mix of mangas and volumes, which makes it better for picking up new series to grab scans of then to actually pick up new series.

Those are still mainstream titles. At least it doesn't have super-old titles like Akira or only anything that was released in the early 1990s (there's nothing wrong with them but it doesn't serve a young demographic).

Hmmm.. up there the types of manga sick of reading u miss one
The romanceful type - lovey dovey slender body, full of feelings.. Oh.. Romeo and Juliet .. or maybe Romeo and Romei ? long legs, beautiful face, nobody is ugly one typical u know what kind of manga like that ? and I will DEFINITELY choose this type besides Long drawn out plot.

My library doesn't have any translated-manga, focused on references and literature. Strangely, it has a few RAW-mangas to be read, such as Detective Conan and Doraemon in its full glory [ I mean directly imported from Japan ]

I haven't been to my public library in a long time (though I'm 100% sure it has manga), but my high school library has a few shelves of manga ^^;;; I was surprised when I found out about it XP

I voted for "What is this library you speak of?" only because I have never looked if they have manga or not, and don't want to drive out there to find out (gas costs too much for that).

My library has been getting more manga. Mostly stuff I've already read/not interested in. But I gave them a list of really popular stuff and they have the majority of it now. Also, they shelve it with the kids stuff. Yeah... there is going to be a repeat of an incedent were a parent found sex (not even that graphic) and they pulled the series.

Library x manga? hum...i do go to local library a lot and never found manga in their shelves. Too bad T_T

I only go to the library when I have to research something for school, so I don't read mangas there... I end up buying all the mangas that I want instead
