SD TVs are only 640x480. HDTVs are either 1280x720 (720p) or a variant, or 1920x1080 (1080p) or a variant. They can display other resolutions via windowboxing or scaling, but it's not the same image. Some high-end 27"+ PC monitors (some are labeled as TV Monitors) offer higher resolutions.

1080p for movie and anime, 768p (default TV reso for me) for watching hentai and browsing MU. Making the reso goes over 1080p will only makes my eyes go bad faster than it is now.

I'm surprised, so many people are sticking with 1024 x 768 embarrassed Whenever I use the comps in uni, that resolution always struck me as too small to fit in everything. It's just like how 800 x 600 struck me as too small years ago, after I switched to 1024 x 768 xD

I use 1280 x 1024 at home, but much larger monitors than that at work. I prefer widescreen monitors but there's no space for it on my desk at home.
