Hi, I'm looking for a manga where the protagonist was a hero (example: saved the world from monsters, was an active police detective, etc) in the past, but has either completed the mission he/she set out to do, or is otherwise "done" with their hero work.

The manga could deal with how the protagonist tries to adjust back to a normal life, or about how circumstances compell them to return to being a hero.

I would prefer it if the hero was strong, so that there are lots of people around him/her trying to convince them to return to hero work ^^

Sorry if it sounds specific. Anyways, I thought of this after I read a Korean webcomic about a guy who had previously defeated the demon lord or something, and is now living unemployed...

Thanks!

First to come to mind was Rurouni Kenshin.

Maoyuu Maou Yuusha
well...
i think this manga close enough.
the main protagonist is still the hero.
but he hide himself to seek the better solution with his enemy(or lover i can say) biggrin
even the hero name haven't mentioned until now.
he always called "hero". XD
there are 3 options for this manga.
(i choose Maoyuu Maou Yuusha - "Kono Watashi no Mono Tonare, Yuusha yo" "Kotowaru!" cause it was the first manga translated from these 3 options and the art charms me) biggrin
sadly, there just 11 chapter have been traslated til now. T-T

(sorry for the poor English.) XD

Unfortunately, I read the Web comic in its original language and was unable to figure out the English title...something about the Heroic Tales of Asuran or something...

These replies are awesome! I hadn't really thought of it, but Rurouni Kenshin and Ubel blatt fit the description perfectly. I've already read them and their one of my favorites ^^

Dragon's Son Changsik I tried reading, but I'd prefer it if the protagonist were younger.

Maoyuu Maou Yuusha sounds interesting in itself, but I don't know if it fits the description of retired hero. Well, I'll try it out anyways, cuz it sounds good.

Any more suggestions? biggrin

Well if ex-hero now DarkHero fits (like in Ubel blatt), red eyes is very similar on that aspect, also Vinland saga, i don't want to spoil anything but we get two of those (retired hero)

I looked on your lists for Rurouni Kenshin, but I did not find it.

If you have the hangul for the series, we could probably find/get the English title.

I think it was implied that the protagonist will get younger (he grew 3 hairs on top of his head wink).
