i read them around 1992
i could not stand the next trilogy and i cant stand anything else eddings ever wrote

after that i have never really cared much for other genres

first book i loved...
Dragons of Autumn Twilight
it came out here when RPGs were at its peek[atleast for me lol]

i think everyone paints pictures in their mind while reading
its a very human thing to do

In grade 2, Charlotte's Web by E.B. White. What a classic...

When I seriously started reading I was about ten years old. We had an assignment in class to choose a book, read it and then review it to the rest of the class.
Splendid...
Either way, the book I choose was about a girl in the viking age (called that?), that got kidnapped and put to work as a slave. Her whole family was killed and she had to learn a whole new language, and how to adapt to the viking traditions.
It had me bawling time and time again, but then smiling a lot more when she found "new" parents in a rune carver and his wife.
I think it was a series of three books, beginning from her young years until she's a full grown woman.

Sadly, I don't remember the title or author of the books no
Just that this book was the beginning of consuming fantasy and historical books OwO

Also... I forgot to return that book... so it is somewhere at home... maybe I'll find it someday? wink

I started reading a bit late in my life... The first book I read by choice and that really motivated me to read others was Brave New World, by Huxley, when I was 15.
Today I got a reading habit and can read a lot of thing beside science fiction! But in the beginning, I was interested only in Sci fi and High fantasy! XD

The very first book that I've read from cover to cover was the Malay translated version of Sinbad the Sailor.

I always loved reading as far as I remember. I mean how do you remember books you read 18 years ago?

I think I like reading the moment I first learned how to read. Though I cannot remember what specific book made me love reading but I guess it has to be all the types of books one read as a kid: One thousand and one nights, Grimm's fairy tales, Andersen's fairy tales, Animorphs, La Fontaine's fables etc.

Uh.... I honestly don't remember. I've always loved reading and there's probably some books that I'll never remember having read.

But... my more recent favorites would have to be the Darkest Power series. I really like it. The sequel to the Darkest Powers trilogy isn't as awesome, but what can I say.

My ultimate more recent favorites that has probably kept me reading even now *not really* would probably be Immortal Beloved by Cate Tierman. -yes I know, it sounds like every other YA novel, but it's worth it-

The Three Cavies. A gigantic 120 word book.

But what got me into fantasy was Final Fantasy X.

The first book I remember reading in any detail was The Hobbit when I was in the 3rd grade. Only Tolkien book I've ever enjoyed, so you could say it was that, but I know I read many books before it, that's just the first one that stood out.

I started reading in 1st grade with Clifford the big red dog books and went on from there.

BUt I really got into it in high school and read Percy Jackson (big fan of greek mythology) series, Wicked Burn, and Pleasure Unbound.

Well, the first book I remember being enchanted by, was one I was read to.
It was a collection of various stories in various styles and themes, called "The Wonder Tree".
It featured "Dr.OuchItHurts" and his travels all across the world helping injured animals,
while struggling with a mean wife who was only after money.
I remember all kinds of stories... From silly ones like a father messing up his daughter's drawing requests (with illustrations!), and our famous Mrs.Fly with the gilded belly - to not-so-much-for-children ones like Medusa.

I'm pretty much lit-translating here, so... Bare with the names. >.>

I can't remember a time when I didn't love books,
but my golden years were probably around 10-12 or so.
It was in that period that I read my first Dumas, Tolstoy, The Master and Margarita and many more wonderful classics I cherish to this day.
I also fondly remember a certain historical novel (the name alludes me) about a 30yr old's first time with some mysterious stranger that's come into town.
One of the phrases that stuck in my head: "She held her legs in a manner unlike other women's".
The town doctor suggested she should get laid already. xD
It was all said in a serious fashion, of course.

Yeah, I've had people tell me I was too young to really "understand" or "appreciate" them, but what do I care? It's not my fault their brains didn't mature until after their 40s. embarrassed

Anyways, I've rambled too long....

Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austin

I'm ashamed, but I only read the book after I watched the film (2005 version).
I love the book.
