how about Annarasumanara? (what's really nice about this manga is instead of straightforward themes, he conveys his darker themes with his art and symbols~)

Melo Holic (this is twisted... you cant imagine how twisted, so dont read spoilers)
Black Lagoon (Realy nice, the anime also, packed with action and the most sexy female characters of them all, funny and dark)
Blade of the Immortal (EPIC, samurai times with the most bad ass antihero main character you can imagine, also a romantic subplot)
Sugar Dark is very good. The manga is short and ending is realy cool. Its a romantic story. The ending is twisted and cool.
I dont know if you can call Lilim Kiss dark
But its cool as hell. Also sexy and funny.
Superior is dark and funny. Got romance also.
Karin maybe... and Bitter Virgin is realistic and "psykological". Deals with trauma and stuff.
This one is super dark and super good:
Kara no Kyoukai: The Garden of Sinners
Its total psycho, the guy falls in love with a crazy girl
But then i would reather see the anime movies instead of the manga. They are more complete. Maybe one of the darkest mangas with romance and good plot. When you see the anime movies they are in fact quite epic at times.
