Since chapter 34 hasn't been released by any scanlation group, I'll just give a heads up on what the main points of the chapter are. Ah, you're all in for a surprise if you have not read this yet...

Spoiler (highlight to view)
Test results are back from mid-terms. Everything is just going downhill in the SA. Why? They have just found out that Hikari got 13TH place. As for Hikari, her soul has left her body^^. Hikari explains that the reason she got a lower score this time was because she couldn't focus on her studies. Kei kept on popping up in her mind and she couldn't focus.

Tadashi works to fix this. He sets up a sports event that will give Hikari a chance to get back her original ranking. But the downside of that one is that the SA are divided into two seperate teams. Hikari, Tadashi, Megumi, and Ryuu are on the red team, while Kei, Akira, and Jun are put on the white team. Hikari is assigned as the red team's leader. She encourages them. Kei is assigned leader of the white team. he says they plan to win (in a menacing "you'll-do-it-or-else" tone).

While Hikari is alone, a couple of white team supporters (they're girls by the way) confront Hikari. They tell her that if she's not an active participant in this event, then they'll have a chance to get into SA. So the girls start to plan to make it so Hikari can't participate...I think they start to plan this by saying things behind her back on purpose thoughout the event preparations (kinda reminds me of what Luna was doing to Mikan during the Sports event in Gakuen Alice...)

Hikari is on her guard while going home. While going home, she sees Kei walking in her neighborhood. She askes herself why he's walking around in that sort of place. She also realizes that she hasn't seen him at school lately. Then the idea of her falling in love means she's lost comes to her mind again^^.

The day of the Sports Day comes. Akira is busy taking pictures of Hikari in her outfit. Hikari spots Kei on the opposite team, and he looks back at her. Hikari tries to smile, but isn't able to do that so easily^^. She turns away, but hears another one of those stupid girls from the white team call her a "coward".

Hikari, of course, can't let that pass by, so she follows the girls who called her that. She askes what's wrong, but they say she knows very well what they're talking about. Each and everyday they sent thugs to beat her up, but a very strong foreign blond guy would always beat them up before they could get to her. They tell her she hired him and that's why they're calling her a coward (because they think she can't fight her own battles...). Hikari denies hiring someone to do that, but the girls are still not believing her.

The girls ask if she's confident that the red team will defeat the white team. Hikari says she plans to do that. Then the girls ask if the read team looses, she'll step out of SA. Hikari says she will. The girls suddenly snicker and trap Hikari. They tell her that they have several strong people they want her to face.

Hikari laughs at herself and askes herself why she's suddenly feeling scared. There's nothing for her to be scared of, but she's feeling it anyway. And then she starts to wonder about the blond guy they were talking about. When they reach the destination, Hikari sees a bunch of thugs lying on the group beat up, along with a blond guy standing.

It turns out that it's Kei (oh boy, no surprise there, huh). He says he's been caught^^. He says that he did this because he figured she would be in danger with this whole Sports event. Hikari askes why he did this and he says it's because it's all he can do right now (awwwwww).

Meanwhile, those troublesome girls realize that it was Kei who was the blond guy and start to run away. One of the girls trips and starts to fall while on the stairs. Hikari hurries and catches her and prevents her from falling. Hikari, of course, does a couple of flips to land smoothly. She askes the girl if she's okay.

Kei rushes to Hikari at the bottom of the stairs and askes if she's okay herself. Hikari says she is because Red team is going to win. (Kei was obviously worrying more about her than her being able to participate...poor Kei^^).

Lastly, Hikari reminds herself of the bet she made. If she looses this, she will step down as an SA. No problem right? Hikari is strong. But what happens to the odds when Hikari realizes that when she flipped down the stairs, she landed on her left foot wrong? Hikari has a sprained ankle...

to be continued in chapter 35^^

So no progress...
Some maga just should end earlier...
How can the mangaka use the same schemes over and over again? She ran out of ideas or what? How many times do we have to go trough that school ranking thing?

I'm dropping it!

Heh heh...I went through that before. Back about 2 years ago, I was getting so impatient for Hikari and Kei to move on that I totally stopped focusing on them and focused on Akira and Tadashi instead^^.

Then Finn was introduced and I became a complete RyuxFinn fan.

But really, Special A is a First-Time manga. Of course it's going to be flawed^^. I think the author finds fun in making fans impatient too. She did that with chapters 68-71. Stupid cliffhangers...

Wow...you keep up with it for 2 years already?
Can't even imagine it.

Actually, this chapter has some progress in it...but it's stil not enough to say that the manga is not stuck in one place anymore.
