To start off these chapters, I'll warn all you HikarixKei fans out there...you're not going to like what Kei decides to do with his feelings for Hikari...But good news for all you AkiraxTadashi fans out there: they start dating^^.
chapter 35: The sports event continues the next day. Hikari competes with a hurt ankle. Girls who caused her to hurt her ankle apologize and tell Kei about Hikari's condition. During the last event, Hikari and Kei are put against each other. Instead of competing with her, though, he carries her to the finish line, confessing he loves her. Turns out she fell unconscious before she could hear him say it^^
chapter 36: Hikari is sick in bed because of the strain she put on herself during Sports Day. Akira and Kei go to visit her. When Akira leaves to go get ready for a meeting her parents set up, Kei takes care of Hikari, who is out of her right mind right now because of high fever^^. In this chapter, Akira tries to hold back from hitting Tadashi because she thinks he'll hate her if she continues to hit him. In this chapter, Kei also realizes that his feelings for Hikari are getting out of hand and decides to back off.
chapter 37: An Akira x Tadashi chapter. Akira is upset and tries to ease herself by throwing a party with tons of boys (along with Hikari, Sakura, and Megumi). When Tadashi tries to apologize for what he said to her at Hikari's house, he is driven off by Akira. Later, Tadashi comes back and finally apologizes to her. Akira feels sad that she couldn't say anything back, but Hikari comforts her. The next day, Hikari tells Tadashi to go into the kitchen where Akira is. Akira, thinking that Hikari was the one who entered the kitchen confesses that she loves Tadashi. She sees that it wasn't Hikari, but Tadashi who she had just confessed to^^. She runs away, Tadashi chases after her, Akira runs back and tackles him to the ground and starts crying and says again she loves him. Tadashi says that if that's the case, then he doesn't want her to go to an omiai. By the end of this chapter, Akira and Tadashi are a couple.
chapter 38: Sakura confronts Hikari asking why she won't just call Kei by his first name instead of "Takishima" all the time. The next morning, a chair is thrown out the door of the greenhouse, causing glass to fly everywhere. Kei protected Hikari from getting hurt, but got hurt himself. Hikari decides to help him out because his arm is out from the injury. While doing this, she tries desperately to call him "Kei", but can only manage "Kero-sama" "Keburu", etc...Kei, who has already decided that he will distance himself from Hikari, makes sure he doesn't let her get too close to him. However, when he's sleeping the next morning in the greenhouse, Hikari finally calls him "Kei", causing him to wake up. He sees that later on she has a hard time saying it like the previous day. He helps her say it when they're alone. But once she's repeated "Kei" about three times, he tells her to stop.
chapter 39: This is a Megumi + Yahiro chapter. Megumi plans on dealing with Yahiro in her own way. She askes him to go out with her. He says he will, so long as this "game" entertains him. Megumi ends up feeling sorry for Yahiro because he loves Akira, yet, she hates him. In this chapter, Megumi explains to Yahiro the reason why she never speaks is because of her singing voice. Yahiro at first acts like he doesn't care, but buys her a writting board. Later on, Megumi sees that Akira and Tadashi are out "on a date" too and tries her best to avoid them (dragging Yahiro from place to place without warning^^) When they're alone, Megumi askes if he had fun. Yahiro laughs and says, "Definitely not" in a fun way. But just as he says this, Akira finds them and yells at Yahiro, thinking he has done something bad to Megumi. Yahiro lies and says he did. Megumi, knowing he's lying, breaks away from Akira and hugs Yahiro, gets on his lap and says outloud, "Akira-chan...we're going out. Please don't disturb us anymore..." When she drags him away once more, Yahiro reflects on the fact that Tadashi and Akira are dating. Megumi tells him to wait there for a bit. She gets to higher ground and does her best to sing for him. By the end of the chapter, a little bud has sprouted in Megumi and Yahiro's relationship^^...a tiny bud...-.-...very tiny maybe...
Mixtures of pairings in these chapters. Tadashi and Akira start dating and Megumi starts to develop feelings for Yahiro. I think it makes the story more interesting if the author focuses on other characters too. Don't worry all you HikarixKei fans...Kei's whole "distancing-himself-from-Hikari" thing only lasts until chapter 42.
