Mangaka do not profit from scanlations, and since a great majority of online readers use scanlations... I think you get what I mean.

Hahahahaahahaha...

o wait, you are serious...

LET ME LAUGH A LITTLE LOUDER HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

jk, but seriously, Mangafox (as an example) get money out of other people works since before time, even tough scanlations are pretty decent since most of them do it for free and with no gain, they still give no profit to the Mangaka. Most online readers take that scanlations with out permission (or even worst, after they where specifically asked not to) and make a cash out of it.

if you feel bad, you should only download from the scanlation web, or read there since most places have readers, and buy the works of your favourites mangakas after they are available in your language.

Reading online at sites of scanlators: Scanlators profit (sometimes)
Reading online at Batoto: Scanlators profit (sometimes)
Reading online at other sites: Other sites leech everything for themselves
Downloading from scanlator sites: Scanlators profit (if you click the ads)
Downloading from anywhere else: Nobody profits
Buying translated manga: Distributors profit, maybe mangaka
Buying original manga: Mangaka profits

And that'd be about it.
