I find that as I type more and more summaries, the summaries get longer and longer and longer...I need to cut back on details if I'm going to fit more chapters in a post!!

Spoiler (highlight to view)
Chapter 54: Hikari, being as oblivious in the matter of love as she is, tries to figure out what exactly she as a girlfriend can do. Kei is also determined to win her completely over and treats her like a queen^^. Of course, Hikari isn't used to so much affection and feels uncomfortable. Later when they're in the study room, Hikari says she'll do anything to be a good partner. He then traps her in a chair and says they should continue where they left off back in the haunted house (they were about to kiss, but Hikari inturrupted). Hikari becomes frightened and screams, making it so everyone back in the main room hears her. Kei backs off and says he expected that response from her. He tells her he doesn't want her to force anything because he loves her and doesn't want her to do that to herself. When he's gone, Akira, Tadashi, and Finn come to see if she was okay. Hikari askes Tadashi what exactly lovers are supposed to do. Tadashi basically tells her that they do nothing in particular, but just go along as they see fit (he said it in slightly different words, but that's the idea). Hikari runs after Kei and tells him that they don't have to change who they are to be girlfriend and boyfriend. They'll still battle each other and stuff, only they'll be dating^^. Suddenly, Akira and Finn approach them from behind and question why Hikari was screaming ealier. Then they both challenge Kei at the same time, saying if he looses, he has to break up with Hikari.

Chapter 55: Kei accepts a challenge and first challenges Finn, who looses very quickly^^. Then Akira plans a challenge and declares she will not allow Kei to take Hikari. Akira has a dream of how she first became friends with Hikari back in 3rd grade and remembers how it was Hikari who taught her how to not be weak. The next day, Akira throws a seperation party at Kei's own house^^. While at Kei's house, Yahiro reminds Akira of the challenge Akira gave Yahiro back when they were little: that if she won the race, he would stay away from her. Yahiro says she did indeed win, and askes if she's truly going to make Hikari and Kei break up if she wins. Kei says he's not worried about it at all because he's going to win for sure. The day of the challenge arrives. The challenge: Hikari Hanazono is hiding somewhere on school grounds. Who ever can find her and grab her first wins. Once the race starts, Akira starts to loose energy quickly, but she continues to run after Kei. Kei on the other hand, quickly finds Hikari and runs after her. Just as he's about to grab her, Hikari jumps over him and declares she will not be caught easily. She then says she finds all this competition useless and runs to Akira to see if she's okay. Akira pushes her and tells Kei to take her. Instead, Kei takes Akira's hand and says "Together". Akira starts crying as Hikari comes and takes both their hands. By the end of the chapter, Akira is still counting the days when Hikari and Kei will break up^^.

Chapter 56: Hikari tells Aoi that she and Kei are now dating. He finds this as a shock and later confronts Kei about it. He reminds Kei that what he has decided to do will only end badly, that Hikari will loose her smile, and overall, Kei is leaving for London in the Spring! Suddenly Sui breaks in and tells Kei that THEIR MOTHER is coming home for Christmas~! Aoi also meets Hikari at the train station and askes about the invitation she sent to him for Sakura's birthday (she was asking if he had a girlfriend because it's preferred to have a partner at this party). Aoi sees Hikari smiling and can only say that soon this smile of her's will disappear. So...onto the party. Sakura has put a bell on Jun for reasons that will become clear soon. Finn has come dressed as a girl, claiming to be Finn's "little sister" (Ryu spits out his drink from the surprise^^). Megumi finds Yahiro on the balcony and he comments that she looks cute^^. Tadashi calls Akira "Bear woman", which causes her to smack him numerous times, and Hikari finds Kei talking the phone with a look of distress. Aoi has also come to this party and Hikari waves at him. Sakura gathers everyone's attention and tells them what's going to happen next: the girls and boys will be seperated, the lights will be turned off and whoever's hand you grab onto in the dark will be your partner. She also says if anyone grabs onto the boy with the bell around his neck, they will be murdered^^. While seperated, Kei tells Aoi that no matter what may come, he will always love Hikari and be with her. Aoi says it's impossible, but Kei tells him he's going to do his best! By the end, Kei was able to find Hikari in the dark. I think this scene acts as a symbol for what Kei said.

Chapter 57: Midori Takishima, Kei's mother, comes along on Kei and Hikari's date. She tries to get Hikari to buy something expensive and cute, but Hikari obviously isn't used to spending so much, so Midori helps her^^. All this time, Kei tries to get away from Midori, but is unable to when Hikari takes Midori's side^^. She askes Kei if he has a bad relationship with his mother, but Kei sort of denies it. Later, Midori tells Kei to go home alone while she and Hikari go out together. Kei gets a phone call from his dad (age 35^^) that Midori's co-workers have called to tell her she needs to come back to work. Meanwhile, Midori tells Hikari that not even once has Kei asked for a gift, but Hikari tells her that all Kei wants is his mom (because she's never around). Hikari also gets a phone call from Kei saying he's going to Australia to work in Midori's place. Hikari and Midori hurry to the airport to meet him. Midori tells him that he MUST ask for something in return from her. Kei finally askes just for a cup of tea^^. Kei askes if Hikari wants anything, and that is just to be close to him (and battle him of course). Midori pushes Hikari to Kei and tells them both to have a good time together in Australia~

Chapter 58: Hikari and Kei are in Australia and staying at Midori's house. Of course, they only see each other in the evening because Kei goes to work in his mother's place. While exploring Midor's house, Hikari finds a worn and broken swing that Kei used a lot when he was little. She also finds pictures of Midori and the rest of her family. But she finds one picture with a man's face torn out of it and wonders who the person is. Hikari also thinks that for a Christmas present, she'll fix the swing. Once she fixes it, some local children play on it and ruin it, so she starts over again. But those stinkers come back and start playing on it again! Later that night, it's pouring rain. Kei comes back and askes where Hikari is. Midori's servent points outside, where Hikari is still fixing the swing. He rushes out and tells her to go back inside. She refuses to because she needs to fix the swing. Kei then gets annoyed and picks up the swing to bring it inside. Later, the swing is fixed and Kei is drying himself off. He tells Hikari to come to him (she's frickin scared of him right now^^). She explains that she wanted to fix it because it's important to him. He says what's important to him then is her, not a swing. Kei gets out his present to her: a keychain that has a number 2 on it^^. She then says her gift to him was going to be the swing, but doesn't know anymore. He says in a joke-like manner that a kiss would be fine. She then kisses him^^. Just when Kei's about to ask her to do it again, they hear someone come inside the house. It's Midori. She ignores Hikari's questions of why she's there and says in an angry tone, "That old man came to Japan!"

Chapter 59: Hikari starts to wonder who the man Midori mentioned is. While Kei and Midori are alone, she askes Kei if Hikari is really safe if "that man" knows about her. Kei thinks about it, even throughout the next day when he and Hikari are out sightseeing. Kei challenges her in the running event later that day. When they're at the event, Hikari disappears from his sight. Hikari was only behind him, but saw the frightened look on his face and notices he's not acting normally. Kei says in his mind that even the thought of Hikari disappearing or becoming further from his makes him very angry. Hikari notices that Kei isn't running like he usually does and zooms past him, telling him if he's not going to take this seriously, there's no point in challenging her in this race. So he snaps out of his worries and takes first place in the race. Kei ends up telling Hikari what's worrying him and gives her a piece of advice: "No matter what, don't you ever meet my grandfather." But Hikari finds she's unable to keep Kei's word when she returns to Japan and finds his grandfather in the car that will bring her home! The first thing he does is greets her. Then he gives her a package and a booklet about Kokusen Academy (the same school Yahiro and Sakura attend). Inside the package is a Kokusen uniform. Kei's grandfather says that this time, in Spring, Kei's friends will be able to do nothing. Hikari gets confused about this whole "Spring" matter and askes him what he meant...
