i've seen the hikaru no go anime twice and i'm half way on the manga, and i've seen the yugioh anime too, but if you say that the manga is different and better i'll give it a try

Q&A though the other is long dead

Maybe D•N•Angel• or Yurara no Tsuki, even if I'm not sure, because I haven't finished them?

Also, there is Love Sick, which may be worth a try ... ^^

Yup, the manga isn't even about card games. Very different, and very good. Much darker, too!

this manga reminds me of yugioh season 0, was to be expected since i already heard yugioh duel monsters was from konami whom *improved* the past yugioh

Yeah, season 0 is based off of the original manga (adds filler though). There was one chapter where the duel monsters are used, and apparently it was so popular with the readers that the anime took off with the idea. The manga also goes into the card game thing full time eventually, but it's not for another several volumes.

It's so sad, I liked the whole dark Egyptian backstory when I watched the anime, but there were just so many duels crowding around it that I couldn't bother to keep watching. ><
