Will Madara turn out to be Obito for real? If so what are his reasons for the war?

I think this is one of the biggest cliffhanger this series has ever seen.....
God damn i wanna teleport into the future and know who is behind that mask....its driving me crazy...

I think it would be someone whom you would least expect.....Probably someone from the past

Hmm, it does certainly seem like he can be Obito, but doesn't he seem a little too old to be him? If I remember correctly we can see his aging when he showed his face to Sasuke. But another thing that makes it seem it's not possible to be Obito is that during the clash between Tobi and 4th Hokage, if it was Obito I think the 4th Hokage would know, seeing as how he was the leader of their group. I'm thinking more in line of maybe he's Madara's younger brother or something.

I follow your logic on this, there's a lot pointing in a direction other than him. But the eye connection seems genuine. But if the off chance it does turn out to be Obito, why would he try to destroywhat he tried so hard and died to protect? And what would lead him to hate his own clan as much as he does?


There are reasons why it can't be those two in particular, one being that they are dead and their souls are trapped in constant battle via the seal technique Minato came up with. Another would be how much they love their village, they wouldn't endanger it for this war let alone Madara's Tsukiyomi plan.

I still say its Obito but I can't think of a reason as to why he doesn't like the Uchiha clan or why Minato didn't realize it was him. If it was Obito I'd say it would be the best revelation ever, Tobi being anyone else besides Obito would just seem a little unfitting to me. Plus, I'm expecting Obito to have a real good background story as to why he become such a lunatic. Please come soon next week!

I think everyone needs to take a minute and re-read the chapters with Obito in them for some quick answers...

Syphilis, Rin didnt die in the war... the war ended after the fight where obito dies... Kakashi was unable to save her but because a situation we haven't seen yet...

You realize your evidence has Rin in it right. She did not die during the war , though she might had in the later stages but it is never said she died during the war just that she died sometime after Obito supposedly died and Kakashi growing up, most likely sometime in his teens.

If Tobi is Obito, I'll be very disappointed. Oda would have been getting lazy. I'm still rooting for Kagami Uchiha. Smart idea to send the clone into his alternate universe. Didn't see that coming/

Well... it may be an Uzumaki guy we dont know off, as he can bear both sharingan and rinnegan we by now know it isnt really needed to be an uchiha to bear those eyes. Kishi even made an example with Pain ( he was an uzumaki )... lets have fun thinking stuff bet kishi will make fun of us next chapter .

It doesn't make sense for him to be Obito, since he says he "gave Nagato his eyes." But Nagato's eyes appeared long before Jiraya had taught the fourth. The ages don't match up. I like the idea of Kagami Uchiha, because each of the serious Akatsuki members had some kind of immortality technique in common (Itachi doesn't really count, since his motives weren't the same, nor does Kisame, who was just following his former master). But why would he take Obito's other eye for himself if he already has two of his own?

My problem is the inconsistency. The eyes were supposed to have Tsukiyomi in one eye and Amaterasu in the other, then have Susano'o in both. Then we get two other forbidden techniques, Izanami and Izanagi, which can be used by either eye. But we also have techniques that are unique to individuals -- Kamui and Kotoamatsukami. But of course, Sasuke and Itachi are the only ones who ever seem to use the first three, so they could be "family techniques" (though Tobi alludes to using Tsukiyomi with the "Moon Eye Plan" thing and Madara uses two of them). So my question is are all the eyes the same or are they all unique? If they are all the same, why does everyone seem to stick with the same techniques, never branching out to use the full scope of the eyes? If they're all different, why and how? Oh, and does that mean Itachi and Sasuke are direct descendents of Madara?

These are the sorts of annoying questions I'd rather have answered than who is Tobi, frankly, because the identity of Tobi is undoubtedly going to disappoint, since it will make no sense regardless of who it is. If Tobi is Obito, how did he survive, and how did he awaken the mangekyou? And how did he fight the fourth on equal footing, making his own former teacher believe that he was the greatest Uchiha who ever lived? And how can he claim that he gave Nagato the Rinnegan and made him form Akatsuki, when he wasn't even born when the Rinnegan awakened? If it's someone else, how did he get Obito's eye, which was very obviously crushed? And if he can repair a crushed eye, why couldn't he repair the Shisui eye that Danzo crushed? And how did he know where to go to retrieve the eye? And why does he have some perverse interest in Kakashi? So either way, we're going to have tons of questions, and tons of storyline that has been forgotten by Kishimoto to make it happen... so I'd rather have some kind of clear answer on a mechanics question.

EDIT: Actually, I think I'd be really happy if it turned out to be the Ramen guy. You never really see his eyes. He's got the age lines, and his motivation for the war would be having to deal with everyone on a daily basis. I imagine he has one of the biggest excuses for wanting to destroy Konoha and smother Naruto....
