God....Kubo just had to bring the "im your father" moment didn't he? The guy didn't say it like that but it just felt like the samt moment as in Star Wars worded in a different way, or maybe he it was something he said mentally, not sure since it was kinda ambigious. Still can't believe he actually was a quincy...thought the people that said that were mad....now i just understand that it's Kubo thats mad....whats the point of giving someone that already has so many "hidden powers" to get more? It's like Kubos ultimate goal is to give Ichigo every hidden power in the world we know as Bleach, next time well know that hes the grandson of the spirit king maybe! (Sarcasm if you didn't get it, if it happens im going to facepalm myself to the next century)

Wow! What a theory on how his powers were sealed till now. Now I wonder what rubbish explaination Kubo will give about his mother,Masaki and the events which took place when Ichigo was a child.
The quincy king and his servant, both of them are OP when compared to Ichigo. I understand if its the main villain but even his subbordinate to overpower Ichigo so easily.....Its just too much to handle.
Anyways it looks like we are finally gonna see Ishin's backstory. Hope it doesnt turns out to be predictable and I wish Kubo remembers what he has told us till now about Quincy,Ishin and Masaki.

The Quincy King reminds me a bit of Zangestu. I know someone must have brought this up earlier, but does anyone think that this is less of a coincidence now?

Ever heard of the term "adoptive father"? Ya know, Juha Bach getting Masaki with a child, she runs away for reason X with Ichigo in tow ("Son born in darkness" and the fact that he has supressed knownledge of very high level Quincy-techniques seem to be telling us that Ichigo was actually born in Quincy-land) and hooks up with Isshin.

Then to the important things. AKA aside from being a convenient excuse to fill out the "how" for Ichigo getting his latest upgrade, who cares that Bach is apparently Ichigos paternal progenitor? Ichigo has a family, one that he is happy with if you discount the dead mother, so he should just go "who cares" and keep on rolling.

@strixflash. Can't remember either way, but Masakis and Isshins dating is not a factor in determining the paternity issue. After all, one can date women who have had children as well. And whatever anyone has said.. there is always a possibility that someone is lying. Maybe Bach is, maybe Isshin & Co were.

@switchgear. Because Ichigo was just a massive lump of power with no specific shape or purpose when Rukia met him, due to said suppression of the Quincy powers. Ichigo took Rukias power and with that, his spiritual power gained .. a shape, if you will. A kind of a focus as to use his power. It seems a part of Ichigos protagonist talent that he can assume all know ways of using reiatsu rather easily, seeing as he became a Shinigami/Hollow hybrid without Aizen having a hand in it, unlike with the others, and learned Fullbring while (as far as we know) not quite fulfilling the requirement of having the mother being attacked by a hollow while pregnant.

And yes, all of this is just theory with some (but not solid) backing from the material we've seen so far. The most important thing to remember is that people can lie. Bach can lie, Aizen can lie, Urahara and Isshin can lie. Not a single stated thing must be true. They just may be true.

If I remembered it correctly Isshin,Aizen,Urahara themselves said that Ishin was his father. Maybe Juha is referring him as a grand son? Maybe he is Masaki's father or something, and Isshin lost his powers while defeating quincies and he falled in love with her afterwards or during that time. But if I remembered it correctly,it was shown how Ishin and Masaki dated.....

No, Ichigo is just going to become the next Spirit King (though I would not put it past Kubo to make his father the previous Spirit King)

@Baalzebup
Or he could be speaking in a more general sense as the 'father' of the Quincy and it is more like a brotherhood or something cult-like. If he was full Quincy how would that explain that he had is own Shinigami powers sealed away that Urahara awakened before the Soul Society arc.

....god both sound so plausible when you put Kubo's name there.....hes focusing just way to much on making it "cool" or have many "powers" and large panels so it becomes more cool that im starting to get kinda annoyed....

So Ichigo is a little bit of everything now?
Also Karin and Yuzu should have the potential to have Quincy powers. I really hope all of the Kurosaki family have a big role in this arc.

Speaking of which why don't they go after his sisters if they have the same potential. A little training from hell could turn them into insane, unstoppable tyke bombs. It would also make the story more interesting. Also I called it almost twenty chapters back, Ichigo's mom was a quincy. roll eyes

Actually guys, i think this the first time kubo didnt pull one out of his ass and actually thought of it a long time ago.
Check out chapter 397 on the page before last.
Aizen says to ichigo, "you are the son of a shinigami and ..."
And that's when ichigo's father appears to interupt him, so a lot of people assumed he meant shinigami and human.
But, ichigo already knew he was the son of a human, so whats the point of ishin interupting aizen when hes already revealed the supposed surprising fact (he had already said "shinigami").
The above doesnt make any sense on either the characters or (especially)the authors standpoint.
Second but not less important, beeing the son of a shinigami and a human never stroke me as something really special for aizen to set his eyes on since the time ichigo was born, that also made the whole deal more difficult to accept for me back then, so i thought there should be something more going on, but after some time of waiting in vain i thought kubo changed his mind about the whole thing and so i had given up hope of ever finding out.
Taking into account also that aizen has been referenced twice in the last few chapters, also makes me believe that there is some deeper connection than i initially thought.
So, after all this i have to say, well done kubo this is the first true twist i have seen in this manga,
it was about time smile

I got another prediction that's been sitting on the backburner for a little bit, but I'll say it now. Ichigo and Ishida are twin brothers. That's why Uryu has never met his mom, and why his "dad" who is actually his uncle, Misaki's brother, behaves so coldly to him. You read it here first, remember that.
none

Well I was right about Aizen playing his hand...
But one of Bach's underlings broke Ichigo's sword? Looks like another wtfbbqsauce-going-to-lose-powers-forever power-up is going to happen...
