[m]It's just designed for an anime. I first thought this during the bike scene between kou and natsume in chapter 25. (Or was it 24?) Who agrees?

I agree. They should do that. And I'd like to see this series as live action too

I totally disagree...
This manga is a piece of art! I can't imagine an anime bringing out these captivating, breathtaking feelings. Same for a live action - even if I think an incredible talented director who would try making it as a real movie ( not just as an reproduction but as art itself, like I said) could pull it off.
But really, I think this is the kind of story that is depicted best in manga - especially with this high level of artistic skill.

Asakura's art might be translatable into anime. Knife into an anime? I'd be all over it! But if I was an animator, I would freak out over the heavily-detailed backgrounds, the neurotic attention to strands of hair and eyelashes, and just how freaking 2D-hot her characters are. The production costs would outweigh the artists' wet dream of bringing such gorgeous artwork to moving animation. (oh my gah!) /wipes drool
But of course, they could always tone all that down, and in turn, lose some of the magic that makes Oboreru Knife the amazing piece of art fiction that it is.
