^think about what you said and reflect.
Garage refers to bands that are part of the "Garage Rock Revival" (a stupid moniker if you ask me). Bands like The Von Bondies, The Black Keys, The White Stripes, The Strokes. It basically pertains to groups that have a minimalist approach to music. It's a really raw form of music.

Astronautalis is good, and from what i heard, was kinda simple sounding, but it really pulls it off...
go to page two of this thread for a description of them...
other than that, i cant help ya with this one, i like melodic things, and things more, well, not with just a few instruments

Melodicity is not for me.... Rhythmical stuff is more my thing.
BTW garage is rock music.

Soilwork, Amon Amarth, Slipknot, Dark Tranquillity, In Flames, Meshuggah, At The Gates, Arch Enemy, and generally anything similar. Mostly melodic death metal is the main thing to look out for. I know plenty of people who got into MDM and pretty much stopped listening to what they used to listen to. I'm the one of them. The genre is awesome, but it's hard to get into it at first because many people are put off by death growls but after a while you'll get used to it and end up loving it.

Are you a metal head? Because if you are then you must rip the flesh from your own corpse.

i dont consider myself anything...
but thats what people group me as, since i have mainly all band tee's from metal bands and about 90% of my music is metalish.

i do wonder what it'd be like to do that tho...

Here are some amazing bands:
1. The Pixies (mainstreamish, if you haven't heard of them then I'm sorry)
2. Love Like Fire (Wish you Dead is a fantastical song)
3. Grand Ole Party (OMG Looooovvvve the song "Look Out Young Son")
4. Noah and the Whale (check out 5 Years Time)
5. Ween (one of the greatest bands of all time listen to: Gabrielle, I Fell in Love Today, Ocean Man and Mutilated Lips)
If you want to listen to some J-Rock check out Shonen Knife (they're crazy cool) and Happy End (a classic).
Anyways, those are my reccomendations! Enjoy! n_n

Shows what you know:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slipknot_%28band%29
http://www.metalstorm.ee/bands/band.php?band_id=1106&b andname=Slipknot
http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/artists/Slipknot/bio.aspx

And the procedure is: rip flesh out and then kill. Prepare yourself.

And i wasnt talking about what they are defined as. Ask any kvlt metal head and they will tell you the same thing. Hell they even list lamb of god as metalcore.
