I only vaguely recall this..almost certain it was a Manhwa. A boy saves up money to buy his sister from family members.

*edit or it may have been that he just needed to save up enough to afford to take care of her.

This is one of those statements one makes when they're reeeeeally tired or not thinking, but then later realizes the obvious answer and thinks to themselves, "Ohhhhhhhh... right. What was I thinking?"

It happens, and to be fair, there are more comments made by people who apparently can't read Japanese than those that can.
