Honestly I need more than 24 hours for me to sight see a country well, lol. I chose festival because after having been to one, I know that they're great and the food is delicious. The atmosphere is awesome too and they have festivals quite frequently and at shrines and temples so you can find one everywhere.

This is the best poll ever. I can't decide. Plus all those places probably don't allow unaccompanied dogs. In real life I'd stay home and watch a documentary about Japan. But I am still deciding. So far it's between the 200 mph bullet train and the hot spring. You can make an Onsen Tamago at home...

Some of the lengthy kabuki performances would take up your entire day. I think there is a practice of visiting all the shrines. I'd like that too. I need all the good luck I can gather up. And I'd like to visit the graves of the 47 ronin who died avenging their master.

Okay, I'm going with the landmarks! Are dogs allowed in shrines? Canines have souls too, mu? *claps paws together*

I went with stuff myself with food though many others were intriguing,
I would love to go to a festival I can stuff myself with food there right?
It was seriously tempting to go with big purchases because then I can turn around and sell them be able to legitimately vacation or move there. But I decided not to be a smart-ass and answer the heart of the question is what would I most like to get out off experience/buy in japan and the a combination off food eating sightseeing. With maybe some light shopping in Akihabara though I'm honestly more interested in window shopping then I am actually buying

If money was truly not an issue, I'd definitely be buying property. Apartments, homes, businesses, land... Seriously, why aren't more people considering that option? @___@
Get some money under your belt and the rest of that stuff can come later and at your liesure.

Anime/graphic printed fabrics, baby~! I'd want to collect as much different prints as possible for future sewing projects. (So I guess this falls within the anime merchandise area...?)

I was in a some-what similar situation recently (was in Japan for a short time except money was kind of an issue lol). And I can say that going to a maid cafe was definitely one of the best experiences I had during the trip. I also bought some anime/manga merchandises but the satisfaction doesn't even come close to the time I spent in the maid cafe (also because the anime/manga selection was surprisingly very little in Akiba), and I'm a girl so I didn't like it for perverted reasons XD
But yes maid cafe is definitely #1, and #2 will definitely have to be the festival

I'm torn between department goods, electronics, and meeting celebrities. Well, ended up choosing the last even though there's really only one I want to meet. Can always buy other stuff online XD.

Given unlimited money I'd :
1) buy the most expensive apartment building in Tokyo and hire someone to manage it.
2) return home and take out a mortgage on half of it.
3) come back to Japan and buy everything that I wanted with the money while living in the apartment that I saved for myself.

If you know the right people, it's not hard to find outright prostitution, even though it's not legal.... I guess a soapland is a "unique" experience....

i would buy couple big expensive houses, couple cars, motorcycle, electronics (tv, etc), a private jet, ton of designer clothes, shoes, watches, books and mangas, and than i would just chill and blow off the money with the remaining time left. lol. i'd do it like tht because after the 24hrs, i'd still own the things i bought...so i'd take a nap in my new house and than enjoy all the new things i bought lol
