In Eyeshield 21, I saw Karin Koizuki as the Quarterback for the Teikou Alexanders. This is a start that a Manga shows a girl playing American football, which gives me very interest. However, I noticed that there were other anime and manga that shows female american football players. Here is a list of them so far:
Cat's Eye- episode 62 (Rui, Hitomi and Ai disguise themselves as football players to enter a football game for retriving a diamond)
Sailor Moon- episode 174, 184, &1 94 (Seiya Kou (posing as a boy) becomes a football player
Magical Fairy Persia- episode 24 (Persia transforms into a football player to play in Riki's football game)
Hana O-En Step- Hitomi diguises herself as an injured football player to finish the football game
The B.B.B.-Tomomi imagines herself as a football player playing with her love, Shishimaru while in a game
Tennis Boy- a girl was playing american football before she joined a tennis team
Still, there must be other manga that shows girls playing American football. Can anyone tell me what others are there? And before you ask, Yes, I do have a fetish for them.

There is No Side, where a female possessed by a male spirit is playing rugby (the female spirit plays in a male body, if that counteracts it). He's still treated as a woman though.
I'm not a sports nut but rugby and football seem really similar to me.

I don't think it's very common to have ANY American Football in manga, much less girls playing it. http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?category=American +Football Here's what's been tagged as American Football related on the site. There could be times when girls play randomly in a chapter or so in other series, but I've never seen it.

Rugby and American football are pretty similar, but there are some pretty major differences.
The balls: American footballs are a little more pointy, while rugby balls are more rounded ellipses. They're also made of different materials.
Contact: American football is a very physical sport; people are practically slamming into each other, one-on-one. Rugby has some of that, but it also has a lot of running like football (non-american).
Equipment: Rugby doesn't use as much pads as football does; hence the less contact.
Playing: To be honest I'm not an expert, but in rugby there's only passing backwards unlike football.

to expand on that, in american football, they can only pass forward once per play and only from behind the line of scrimmage. After that, they can only make lateral passes or passing backwards until the play is called down or someone scores. You gotta be really desperate to do that though.

Still dont understand because there are too many variation of them.
What I know is Soccer, Futsal, and Football.
But in american football they bring the ball with their hand, not their foot, why they named it football then? Maybe in "American foot = Hand"? But I also know other sport known as Handball

Kind of like Basket but instead of Ring, they use goal like soccer.

That may be true but maybe the Americans learned football from rugby as well.
@Great
That may be true since handball is in Cobra the Animation.
@flowinmyboat
I agree with you since No Side is similar to my post but I want to see girls playing American football in full uniform.

Excuse me, i played rugby for years and tried some American Football and let me tell you that there is two time more contact in rugby even with out the equipment protecting you. I had break more bones that i count, and been grappled to the, dry and hard as heck, ground several times. Things that count as fault in American Football are legal in Rugby, AND NEVER did i walk out with out at least a cut and quite a few bruises, winning or loosing. I can still remember the smell of blood when i went face first to the ground (because that happened all the time), but i will notice much later because at that point i had to run to make the bastard that steal the ball eat dirt too, and during the Scrawn when nobody was looking, while pushing forward trying to get the ball, we will hit each other and HATE each other, we will push no matter what, that fucking ball was MINE and mine only, then you had to move all the others away from you when the formation was broken and run like hell because there must always be people behind the one that got the ball, yes you can't pass forward and before going to the ground you are supposed to give the ball to the guy behind you, hence there should always be someone behind you, also, if the ball goes forward when you fall it's ball for the other team so you must take care of the ball more than yourself.
Even so, after all that, we will shake our opponent hand and be proud of the blood, because that means we played it the way it's supposed to be played.
You just clean the blood enough to see and keep playing.

Hey, guys, guess what? I finally found a manga for girls playing American football. It's called Kiss wa Me ni Shite. It's about a young girl named Ibuki Morisato who dreams of kissing her prince but later her dream became a reality when her dream prince became the transfer student, Also, she participates in a football game with her dream prince.
