So I read part of one volume of this manga in the bookstore and wrote it down and then lost it. The title of it is the name of the operation she had (or at least has something to do with it).

So the main character is super down on her luck and is homeless and wants to die and then this mysterious guy takes her in, clothes her and treats her well, and then slashes her throat and blows her up (in a car I think). She is found in a terrible state and they ask her sub-conscious if she wants to live. She has some sort of operation which replaces her skin with some synthetic skin, though she can't speak since the damage to her vocal chords are too much to fix, and I think she gets some elevated brain powers (telepathy?). The main part is that she can control anything electronic or something like that. So they tell her this and she breaks out of the facility in search of the guy who tried to kill her and she searches all of the city's cameras for this guy, finds him, and confronts him but it turns out he is an assassin for hire but has his memories wiped after each job so he doesn't know why he was supposed to kill her anymore. They chase after her and some weird hamster/mouse thing comes out of her voice box and saves her.

I think the heroine's name started with an E but I'm not sure.

Any ideas?

It's Mardock Scramble, and it's actually based on a novel of the same name.
