Quote from psycho-shocker
Your prediction about World War III
-can break any time soon
-will break several months from now
-will break several years from now
-will never happen
-can break any time soon
-will break several months from now
-will break several years from now
-will never happen
Any time soon and several months from now are different how? Or do you think that it's even remotely possible for a war of that scale to happen in days or weeks? This is an interesting question though, or at least the conversation it might arouse (assuming that enough people were ready to have a serious discussion about the topic). But the options would be more realistic like so:
- Within a couple of years
- In a decade
- In several decades
- Yes, but not in the foreseeable future
- Never

When you watch a foreign show, what method do you choose to watch it?
The original Dub
The Subs for your native language
The Dub for your native language
Whatever is available
I don't really care

Why'd you change it to "English"? There's absolutely no point in that. It would have been good if it just said "foreign" and "native".

Foreign and native applies whether your native language is English or not. The native language of your "everyone else" is English. I know you like to play the democracy game, but if it's discrimination against the minority then it's not democracy.
As of now there's 13.5% on "The original language's dub / subs" which can mean it's their native language or they otherwise understand it or they don't understand it at all. If the question is vague the answer only serves to rouse more questions.
There's no need for "everyone's" opinions—which is statistic and in most cases (as in this) corrupted—when you can simply think it thorough logically. And though I understand the shortcomings of the previous options, the change wasn't much to the better.

Suggestion:
What is your native language?
English
Spanish
Chinese
French
Japanese
Korean
Portuguese
German
Dutch
Finnic (Finnish, Estonian etc.)
North Germanic (Norwegian, Swedish etc.)
Baltic (Latvian, Lithuanian etc.)
Semitic (Arabic, Hebrew etc.)
Indo-Iranian (Bengali, Hindustani, Persian etc.)
Slavic (Russian, Slovak, Polish etc.)
Malayo-Polynesian (Javanese, Tagalog etc.)
Other, what?
Idea from KaoriNite's native language topic. Languages I chose like so: Firstly English, then those that kept recurring in the topic (Spanish, Finnish, Dutch, Polish), Japanese and Korean for obvious reasons, others due to popularity of the languages (Chinese, Portuguese). And lastly I united some under wider label to reduce the options (all Chinese is one, Semitic is one etc.)
Logic behind uniting is so there wouldn't be many 0.x% answers. Didn't see any point in English, German and Dutch under West Germanic or Portuguese, Spanish and French under Romance for also obvious reasons. As for including small languages such as Dutch, Finnic and Baltic at all, the reason was because there seems to be a lot of people from those backgrounds in the manga (or Japanese stuff generally) circles.
17 options, but can't see any reason to remove any options except possibly two big languages Semitic and Indo-Iranian because I'm not sure if there are many of them in these circles (at least, I haven't seen many).
Minimal options such as English, Japanese, Spanish, Chinese and Other, defeats the purpose of this poll. The idea is to actually break the illusion that that's all there is and see it in wider perspective.

Have you ever actually paid for manga/light-book/doujin in any form (physical or digital)?
-Yes
-No
Even before reading it online was a thing I had friends that read a lot of manga without ever paying for it, by reading it in the store aisle or library or borrowing from friends. So I wonder what the percentage is in 2013.
Another question in a similar vein.
Have you ever read (and completed) a physical manga/light-book/doujin before?
-Yes
-I thumbed through one or read part of one.
-Never, not at all.
I think this might be interesting because I never really read physical manga before in it's entirety, there have been plenty I started, in a store to see if I like it before purchase or one my friend lent me, but I didn't like them and never finished it. All the manga I've purchased has been digital copy or in a few cases a gift for someone else.

Those would be better as "how many" questions including a "never" option. Yes/no polls aren't very interesting.

While I personally find yes/no polls interesting, it's true not everyone does.
I think the first one especially could turn in to a how much question. While I liked my have you ever paid for manga wording, because it covered the rental sites (like netcomics) & magazines too, but it's probably a small percentage that only ever paid for comics using them.
How much manga/manhwa/doujin volumes have actually bought (physical or digital)?
More than 200
100-200
50-100
25-50
10-25
5-10
2-5
once.
never.
I'm not sure if those are the best groupings. And while I think it's better to go by individual volumes maybe going by series is better. If you only ever bought 1 series but bought all 10 volumes of it should that count as 10 or 1?
