If a person who is not Japanese, but is a permanent resident of Japan made a comic, would you still consider it "manga"?
- Yes, absolutely.
- Only if it was written in Japanese.
- Only if they were originally born in Japan.
- Only if they had help from Japanese assistants.
- Only if it was published by a Japanese company or made for the Japanese manga market.
- Only if it had manga-style artwork.
- Not at all.

Our last age poll was in late March 2014 so let´s see if the site "aged up". We could wait 2 weeks till the dates line up even better. I changed 21 to 20 and 22 to 21 to have the rest align better, broke up the 30 into 3 groups and added a 71+ option as the last one stopped at 61+. That last 1.1 % aged after all.
The 3 20s options make more sense to me as the intended reading age for manga somewhat tops out around 30 so we could find out if a decline can be directly seen as MU users advance in their 20s.

How old are you?
10 or under
11-13
14-17
18-20
21-23
24-27
28-30
31-35
36-40
40-50
51-60
61-70
71+

Edit: The one above me is really good.

A bit adding to the current question:

How do you feel about authors publishing the prototype after the series had officially come to an end?

Maybe with the same answers unless some better ones have been suggested in the current one's discussion.

Not manga related but something I've been wondering:

Do you floss?

After every meal
Once a day
Every few days
Rarely
Never

Are you more likely to read a comic in which the names have been "localized" for English audiences, like Julian Tsukishiro or Linda Seo?

-Yes, they're less confusing
-Yes, they're more relatable
-It doesn't matter
-No, I can typically learn to recognize characters
-No, the names don't match the characters and their cultures

Asking since this has recently become a popular practice of a large-scale translations publisher.

What's your main method of finding new series to try? (Why do you start reading a certain manga over others?)

-I rely on my experience based on the title, thumbnail and description
-I start reading any series that looks interesting or has a clickbait thumbnail / title
-I start reading every single series I come across, regardless of looks
-I search for specific categories and read the highest rated
-I search specific categories then read every single series I haven't seen before
-I just read what's in popular/recommended sections of aggregates
-I follow recommendations that others have already posted
-I ask for personal recommendations
-Other methods not listed

"Any / All of the above" would be what a lot of people would probably want to put but it doesn't provide much useful data in my opinion.

Not sure if worded correctly, but:
Do you read a series spin-off story with its characters placed in an alternate/parallel universe?
- Yes, I always read them
- I never consider reading them
- Only if the original ending was bad/unresolved
- No, the characters act too out-of-character from the original
- Never came across this in any series I've read

Example is City Hunter and Angel Heart

Is it important to you that your partner is into manga/anime?

- Yes and they have to like similar things as I do
- Yes but it doesn't matter what they like, as long as it's manga/anime
- No, it doesn't matter at all
- I prefer them to not like manga/anime

I'm not sure if someone has suggested this. I did a quick search in old polls but didn't find it.

How about this?

In a romance based story, who should confess first?

•The guy
•The girl
•Depends on the story

I don't know if this works since it came to my head a minute ago.

Thank you 🙂

What would ruin an otherwise good or even great series the most?

-Lack of exposition (going from point A to C but skipping B)

-Character appearances/names being too similar

-Clunky dialogues and/or narration

This might be a little too personal but...

Have you been infected with COVID-19?
* I currently have it
* I had it, but I recovered
* I don't have it, but I know a family member or friend who does/did have it
* I don't have it, and none of my family members or friends have it so far
* I think I have/had it, but I'm not sure
