Hi there all.

I'm a cleaner for a (now defunct) group, there was a project in particular they were looking at picking up but ran out of staff and had to close before that could happen. I'm looking to see if I can save that project if possible.

The series in question:
http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=7492

It would come with full RAWs for the series, cleans for the next 13 chapters after the point it is currently stopped on and possibly two staff members. (cleaner + typesetter)

Would anybody be interested in this?

This manga looks AWESOME. I can lend my admittedly amateur translation hand but in the meantime while I catch up with the manga first doesn't this need more people?

"Doesn't this need more people?"

Well, I have a typesetter on standby and could possibly find a proofreader etc on short notice, the only problem has always been just the lack of a translator who isn't too busy.

Send me an Email (I'll PM you the address) and we could probably work something out smile

Gaijinwiki has yet to finish reading the series, so in the meantime I'm still on the lookout for interested groups and parties.

Any groups around looking for projects to translate?

Anybody know any groups that might be interested in it? I could send them an Email about it. If you know any individual or group that may be interested, I would love to know about them.

Although you said that you're able to find proofreaders on short notice, are you still interested in one?
I have zero experience though, (so a proofreader is someone who reads the manga and find possible spelling, typo and grammatical mistake?) but if you're interested in my help(of any form), I can try to do so in any of the other jobs too(zero experience too, though I have a minimum experience in photoshop, and the exception of translating). I'll pm you my e-mail and you can reply if I'm needed. biggrin

Thanks for the offers guys, but first things first:
A translator is needed.

A typesetter and proofreader can do little without a translation to typeset or proofread <.<
I'll keep you both in mind, however.

I used to do Wa ga na wa Umishi until I dropped out of scanslation for various reasons. It's a tricky manga to translate because of all the technical terms and no furigana, but I hope you get lucky finding one.

For a head start, here's the rough translated script for up to page 189 of volume 11. Not sure which chapter that is but at least one or two chapters past what I released. Do whatever you want with it, I don't mind. http://wikisend.com/download/965290/Umishi vol 11.txt (copy-paste whole link)

Hey there Manga by Request!

I was under the impression that you had deleted the translations for chapters 106 and 107, otherwise I'd have contacted you weeks ago asking about them.

Hopefully this will help get interest flowing, though I'll wait for the right moment to get those 2 chapters released (after I get your drafts tlc'd etc). Many thanks for that smile

You're welcome. It's a manga dear to my heart so I'll be happy if it's completely scanslated one day.

Bump.

Update news:
A group has contacted me in regards picking up the project as they're on the lookout for new ones currently and they seem to want to do it, so Wa ga Na wa Umishi may very soon(?) start getting updates again.

However, they could use the extra staff so as to help with the speed of the project, so please keep on PMing me if you're interested in working on the series.

Translator is the most desirable, but other positions are very good too. If you want to be a cleaner or typesetter even if you have no experience but you do have the desire to learn, then I can teach you how to be one given the time and give you any tools you'd need. Just PM me.
