I thought about saying Oyasumi Punpun, but it got a boost in popularity recently, that surprised me.

I think Kokou no Hito is pretty unknown, and it's my favorite manga of all time!

So many posts about already popular manga. no Over 1500 reading + complete is usually a sign that the series is fairly popular.

Apollo no Uta and it's more well-known sibling, Phoenix
Kimi ni Shika Kikoenai

seconded vampire juuji kai and Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen
and I think Angel Densetsu is not that popular. (it's from the same author as claymore though)

I also thinks that way! Kokou no Hito and Punpun are almost in that mark, and the hipster inside of me gets a little sad thanks to it.

This thread's been done before, and that thread at least tried to put an actual number to cap off popular manga. Of course, nobody paid attention to it there, either; somebody even listed Yotsuba and Bitter Virgin!

Anyways, using the <200 guideline from the other thread, the following fit for me:

Ryuguden & Paperakyu - For whatever reason, Matsunaga's quite an unpopular mangaka, but I love all his works.

Heaven's Door (KOIKE Keiichi) & G (KOIKE Keiichi) - I guess people don't care for psychedelic manga?

Takemitsu-Zamurai - One of Matsumoto Taiyou's most accessible works in terms of both the art and the story, and a genuine masterpiece.

Coo's World - I liked this a bit more than its sequel.

And I may as well advocate for the series I'm currently working on:

3, Street of Mysteries - A collection of oneshots by Mizuki Shigeru focused on the nature of life and death, ranging from quiet contemplation to horror, and occasionally branching into the flat-out bizarre.

Kuuki no Soko - Another oneshot collection, this time by Osamu Tezuka, spanning a wide variety of genres and topics. Quite dark and generally pessimistic toward humanity.

Ooh, you guys like Tezuka manga too, I see! smile And Eat-man, nice.

Er... for me? Practically every manga I read is not 'popular'. I guess some are popular enough to get released in English, like Kurosagi Shitai Takuhaibin or... I dunno, Pet Shop of Horrors. But most of the stuff I read is kinda unknown. Things by Okazaki Kyoko and Mihara Mitsukazu, who are the only two ones I can think of that consistently make little-known manga. At least, I think neither ones make overly well-known stuff.

As for manga titles? Let's see...

Coponicus no Kokyuu
Sugar wa Otoshigoro
Ryushika Ryushika
Skyhigh: Shinshou
Chocolat (KUBONOUCHI Eisaku) isn't super popular, I think...
Corpse Party: Book of Shadows

Everything else I'm not sure about. A couple are definitely popular. And these are things I'm reading now. Suppose if I was to answer the original question, it would take longer...

I can't say I like all his works (there are way too many and mostly not translated), but I do like his popular series, which I guess isn't popular anymore since they're so old now. New generations should really check out the classics though.
