Hoshi no Samidare
Iris Zero
Yumekui Merry
Melo Holic
Immortal Rain
Bitter Virgin
Ai-Ren

looking at your lists, I recommend you to take a look at mine. The few %'s that aren't romance are action so it should be fine. Trying to put everything down here would take a lot of time and I'm kinda tired, so that's all for today.
Good luck

Tanks for the recommendations. Looking at your lists our tastes seem to match partially. I'll definitely take a closer look at your huge list wink

There have been different requests with results similar to what you're looking for. Take a look at my other recommendations:

Series with many strong feelings and emotions

Eye-opener

If you still want more, here are the remaining series that I have listed as deep ranging from thought-provoking to profound:

Usotsuki Mi-kun to Kowareta Ma-chan: Totteoki no Uso by IRUMA Hitoma
Criminalistic manga on human cruelty. Well-executed and twisted.

Sankarea by HATTORI Mitsuru
About the difficult relationship between a zombie girl and her unintentional creator.

"Bungaku Shoujo" to Shinitagari no Pierrot and its sequel "Bungaku Shoujo" to Ue Kawaku Yuurei by NOMURA Mizuki/ KOUSAKA Rito
Psychological series about the dark human nature.

Kagen no Tsuki by Yazawa Ai
About a group of students trying to untangle the mystery of an amnesiac woman. Skillfully narrated.

Sickness Unto Death by ASADA Hikari
Bittersweet story of a college student aiming to become a psychatrist and his first case - of love.

ES by SOURYO Fuyumi
Drastic lesson on mankind's presumption.

Maoyuu Maou Yuusha - "Kono Watashi no Mono Tonare, Yuusha yo" "Kotowaru!" by TOUNO Mamare/ ISHIDA Akira
Humanistic approach towards war, economy and politics in a fictional medieval world.

Shutter Love, BX and Bathroom Guuwa by OKAZAKI Mari
Atmospheric stories about love and independence.

Torikagosou no Kyou mo Nemutai Juunintachi by KABEI Yukako
About two people finding their own place in life again.

Tsuki to Mizuumi by ASHIHARA Hinako
Peculiar little one-shot about a girl trying to comprehend her grandfather's relationship with an unknown woman.

Itaitashii Love by NANANAN Kiriko
Realistic depiction of various romantic relationships.

Peony Pavilion by XIA Da
Poetic discourse into Chinese philosophy. Complex and heavy.

By the way, I second Iris Zero and Ai-Ren.

Uchuu kyoudai is very deep in a lot of ways...has a bit of romance and action but is mostly one of those 'occupation quest' type sienens, (thats not an actual term I just couldn't work out a better way of describing that category lol), its a current fav so highly recommended.

Vinland saga is really deep and action packed and amaze balls.

:Reversal puts an interesting spin on zombie survival that highlights flaws in human perception.

Witches is so ridiculously deep its more like philosophy with a bit of plot in places XD but saying that the stories still work well and the plots and characters are interesting.

Drifting classroom has a lot of morals and views of human behaviour under stress and stuff, been described as quite lord of the flies.

Kokou no hito another career quest type, though this time it's mountain climbing and so there are a lot of acts performed in desperate situations, human choices and consequences of actons along with a large amount of the mc pondering to himself about life, the universe and everything on snowy mountaintops.

Others but I got bored so I'm not writing about them lol:
Baku
Shin angyo onshi
Jisatsutou
Yokokuhan
Heaven's door (Koike keiichi)-its quite mindfuck
Route 20
Haibane renmei
Planetes
Doll star
Dazzle
+Anima
Nausicaa of the valley of wind (any of the ghiblies really)
Hotel

Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan - Short but really touching!!!
Skip Beat! - A total recommend!!! Relly nice.
Liar Game - It's defitely deep(in terms of psychology) and definitely mind-blowing and detailed!
Tantei Gakuen Q - I really love this when I was young! (At first I find it boring but...)
Tada, Kimi o Aishiteru - A seriously beautiful story.
Strobe Edge - An innocent pure love that's really nice.
Boku no Hatsukoi o Kimi ni Sasagu - It's full of emotion(sadness, happiness, touching). Adeep first love.
100% Perfect Girl - This story too, is a story filled with emotions.
Ashita no Ousama - This is quite a unique story and I really love how the MC persevere towards her dream!
Basara - DEFINITELY. Although its old and the artwork isn't too nice, it didn't stop me from reading.
Hagane no Renkinjutsushi - This manga is way to popular. It's bittersweet yet hilarious.
Tokyo Crazy Paradise - Absolutely love this.

Berserk, Berserk, Berserk. A thousand times Berserk. Believe it or not is has amazing depth, most people just think it's a hack and slash so they don't give it a chance. Not only does it go into politics, the morality of man, and religion, it focuses a great deal on the trauma the MC has had in his life and how that affects him and his lover. This is what you are looking for. I could write pages about how deep and amazing Berserk is, but I'll it here by saying I loved it and highly recommend it.

TL;DR: Berserk is pretty cool and the MC is super likeable

Edit: I'd also like to second Onani Master Kurosawa, doesn't seem like much from the description or art but give it a chance; it's one of the few 10's I've given.Deals with how an introvert comes to learn people aren't so bad by making a huge mistake.

Some that haven't been mentioned yet (completed):
Chobits
Battle Angel Alita and sequel
Emma
Kodomo no Jikan hidden behind a loli veneer
Shingetsutan Tsukihime
Solanin
Velvet Kiss hidden behind a borderline h veneer...

Well, Hoshi no Samidare was mentioned a few times already, so if you haven't read it yet, your manga-reading privileges should be revoked.
