What... the... hellconfused? I mean... what? Ah no... I feel so... cheated... disappointed... I mean, yeah, the plot was a mess for a loooong time now, but at least I hoped for a good ending... and what was this? At least I know that that stupid Yuuki is dead now T_T

HAHAHAHA.

I'm glad I sold this manga off in its initial volumes.

I don't think its that bad.
Yuki stay with Zero for a long time, has two daughter, and when Zero's life span ended, Yuki give her own live to revive Kaname as a human. As if he didn't live long enough as a vampire.

I give the ending a 2/5.

The good:
1) Yuuki gives Kaname the opportunity to live a fulfilling life as a human, quench his thirst (find love), and build a relationship with his daughter(?) and Zero's son.
2) The scene in which Kaname pulls in Zero and gives him and Yuuki a hug is heart-warming.
3) Kaname gives his blessings to Zero and Yuuki.
4) Kaname realizes all his mistakes and repents.
5) One of the panels shows Zero appearing to be genuinely happy with Yuuki.
6) Yuuki's children are presented (daughter is Kanames and son is Zeros?).
7) Zero telling Yuuki that she has to decide right there and then if she is willing to spend her life with him until his end. This may have come across as inconsiderate but it was justified. He really couldn't wait any longer and for the love of god, he had been considerate to her feelings throughout the manga.

The bad:
1) The ending accomplished nothing: Not only were Zeki and Yume fans given half-assed endings (I'll explain later) but the whole humans VS vampires thing was left unresolved. They continue to co-exist but they still fight like always. Overall the plot became an issue of resolving a love-triangle (which was left unresolved) and it completely forgot that one of the larger issues was that humans and vampires couldn't co-exist peacefully.
2) Turning Kaname into a human doesn't help solve anything, sure it gives him a peaceful ending but the manga was supposed to be more than just a decent ending for him. It was extremely hypocritical for Yuuki to turn Kaname into a human because she clearly stated in earlier chapters that she disliked that Kaname decided her fate for her. Secondly, it appears as though Kaname's memories were erased? Does Hino plan to make history repeat itself? Clearly erasing people's memories backfires as demonstrated by Yuuki's memory loss and Zeros as well.
3) Where is the logic in Yuuki leaving her two children behind with a man that doesn't know them? Clearly they know who he is but he doesn't know them. Are they supposed to be his caretaker?
4) Kaname technically doesn't repent for his actions [for long at least (1000 years)]. Although Yuuki dying for Kaname was sweet it really undermines Kaname's form of repenting. What was the point of his death if he was going to be brought back to life so he could live a life filled with daisies. Did he really repent justly? Sure he can't be with Yuuki, but she gave him the chance to find another and live a life with her children. Does he really deserve this?
5) Yuuki turns into a butterfly? What? I don't even..
6) Yuuki: Dear god, where do I even start? Until the very end she accomplished nothing except for crushing the spirit of two men. She isn't even the "vampire knight", Zero was more of a heroine than her. She lacks character development (Kaname and Zero developed far more and for the better) and until the very end she couldn't fend for herself (Zero saved her from being knocked out by the vampires). Even the side characters like Aidou did more than her.
7) This is arguable but Yuuki (the one who should have suffered) really doesn't. Okay she witnesses the "death" of Kaname and eventually Zero but she lived for who she loved (Zero) and died for who she loved (Kaname). Despite doing little to nothing throughout the whole series she lives a fulfilling life and dies an honorable death but why what did she do to deserve such a beautiful life and death?
8) Zero: Until the very end, Zero was given the short end of the stick. He seriously got stomped on all over until the end. Essentially the only reason he was able to achieve his happiness was by putting Yuuki in the situation that forced her to either progress their relationship or end it. Additionally, the opportunity would have never arisen had Kaname not fell into his slumber. Maybe this is just me but, I believe that he should have achieved happiness fairly - by Yuuki fairly rejecting Kaname and deciding to be with Zero. Also, he dies at the very end. It's understandable, there was no way he could outlive Yuuki or the children he raised but where is the justice? Zero was arguably the "Vampire Knight", yet he dies and is given very little panels. Where are the panels in which he is shown to be happy (except for two where he is smiling)? Where are the panels in which he is presented with his children? Raising not only his child but also the daughter of the man he hated? The daughter that he most likely raised as if she was his own? Of course the girl may have been his but she could have been Kanames as well. Ultimately, Zero was served a platter of injustice. The only good out of all of his is that he seemed, as presented in his two small panels, happy.
9) What about the other couples? Hino seriously presented her readers two panels of the other relationships and that's it. What? I wasn't expecting much but they offered more to series than Yuuki and they get a panel or two, what is this?
10) Should I even explain the half-assed Zeki and Yume ending at this point? The fact that fans are STILL ARGUING able who is canon is a pretty good indication that the end paring is vague. The Zeki only ending is arguable. The Yume only ending is arguable. And the Zeki AND Yume ending is arguable. Ultimately, Zero and Kaname both got screwed over. Personally I think Zeki fans got screwed over a little more than Yume fans because the Zeki ending relied on Kaname's death. Zero would have been forever friend-zoned if it had not been for Kaname. Yume fans also got screwed over because Kaname ends up throwing his heart into the furnace which leads to Zeki. However.. (refer to number 1 under the good). Personally I think that Yume is the clear-cut winner. There is a difference between living for something and dying for something. (Keep in mind that I'm a Zeki fan so this really is NOT a biased opinion.)

Despite my hatred for Yuuki, I wanted a true Zeki ending. I wanted to see one of the most pained characters in a series achieve his ultimate happiness. Knowing that Zero died and wasn't even given the proper attention seriously hurts. My heart hurts after all this.. I think I'm done with Matsuri Hino.

And wtf? How the hell is Kaien still alive!?
Another thing, why didn't Yuuki give her life up for her daughter? If she is Kaname's daughter then that means she is a pureblood. This meaning that she will outlive her brother and will probably live a lonely life after his death (that's if she doesn't find a lover). Isn't her daughter deserving of a human life?
Also, I totally ship Zero's son and Kaname's daughter. Incest is wincest lol

It finally happen the end. I'm happy that Zeki got together but tell the truth I didn't feel any love in the end like I did while I was reading the manga other chapters. Still I will have to agree with these who are mad about the manga because at first I was like mad and screaming at my older sister because Of this lol
Still the ending did suck mostly because there was many things were left out.
But what get me to pull my hair was that I didn't get see a happy family, why couldn't she drawn Zeki a better picture before Yuki go and kill herself for Kaname which was kinda sweet almost like giving him a second chance will third chance in life and this time with the kids of Yuki.
Now I have question for you guys if you guys don't mind
Are these two girl or boy and girl? Are they both Yuki and Zero? Yuki was standing in Zero grave right? And Yuki did die right? Please answer and thank you smile wink grin

I'm pretty sure the one with long hair is female and the other is male. The male is most likely Zero's (hair and eye color resemble that of the Kiryuus vs the Kurans) but the father of the female is unknown (could very well be Kaname's daughter because of her hair and eye color but the Kuran's really do look exactly the same but she looks a little off). I think she is Kaname's daughter though.
The grave was Ichiru's and Zero's parents' grave.
Yuuki does die at the end.

Edit: so people believe that Yuuki's two kids are actually TWINS (Zero's children). We will never know for sure I guess but it would make sense. Yuuki and Zero broke the curse?

Both are female, judging from the clothes line, and the way the mangaka draw the eyes and lips.
And from the black haired girl's word, "this is a message from my mother to my other mother", The black haired one is Kaname's

Lol god, I just don't know anymore. xD
I hope that the one with short hair is Zero's son and the long-haired one is Kaname's daughter. I totally ship these too. If they got together and had children it would be the perfect zero/yuuki/kaname ending. They would all exist in one body (or however many children they would have.)

I feel that the ending didn't really show Yuuki being happy with Zero, more like because Kaname died, she just went with Zero for the sake of him begging her to. Imo, this ending wasn't really a Zeki ending. Very disappointed no

I've somewhat accepted the ending HOWEVER I NEED at least TWO extras.
Extra # 1: I want to see Zero happy. I want to see him forming a happy life with Yuuki and the two kids. I NEED to see Zero living the family life that was taken away from him when he was a child.
Extra # 2: Kaname forming a relationship with the two (1000 year old) kids. I feel like they would have a lot of funny moments. I also want to see Kaname's new love. I want proof that the whole turning Kaname into a human and taking away his memories works out for the best. I feel like my heart would just melt if Yuuki's and Zero's silhouettes watched him and the two kids from afar.

GIVE ME THESE TWO CHAPTERS HINO LIKE NOW

I still think this manga should end when kaname turn yuuki into vampire in.. vol 10?
after that, the story just a mess.
I dont feel anything in the last chapter, and yuuki affection to zero? it feels fake. fake. fake.
