Ichigo 100% ending has really caused a forum war between the Nishino fans and the Aya fans. I am here to ask people to not forget about Satsuki, who is surely the tragic heroine of this manga. I felt really sorry for her when she was the one to hear of the news that Nishino and Manaka where back together. Also, that scene when Manaka and Aya are seperated by the sliding door and are pouring their hearts out and Satsuki heard it all, that scene made my chest hurt for Satsuki. I probably wouldn't have felt so bad if Manaka would have returned some of Satsuki's feelings or shown some interest. I know that he liked Satsuki from all the thoughts that he had in his head but he never showed her any affection which made the situation even more tragic as she continually threw herself at him and he kept pushing back. At some point I was even screaming at Manaka to make his feelings clear to Satsuki and tell her that they will never be lovers. But I guess that is to be expected from the indecisive Manaka. Well I guess I have ranted enough so thats pretty much it for now.

She was the big breasted one right? Yea I never understood why she was even put in the manga. I guess the mangaka just wanted to add a few more volumes for more content to milk the series. The series would have gone on quite well w/o her existance.

Of course we pity her. But, from the beginning, the choice is only between Aya and Tsukasa. The other girls are only mean to make the manga longer. bigrazz

While I did like Satsuki the most, I really don't think she ever stood a chance. To me, it makes the most sense to pick the one you're with which you're most comfortable and share the most common interests with, but for Manaka that really wasn't fitting. So I have to agree that, to an extent, Satsuki didn't really have a place and was just there to increase the size of the harem.

Only reason I ever advocated her existance was for that omake where she and Toujo drink this potion to switch personalities, I thought that was hilarious.

I would seriously have gotten bored and stopped reading if Satsuki had not showed up, cause I never particularly liked Aya or Nishino. Sadly it was pretty obvious she was gonna be a victim of unrequited love. She had a ton of personality and her design was oddly unique looking imo, mostly her face I really like. I like her other parts too(lol) but her face really stood out for me cause she seemed to show her emotions through facial expressions really strongly. She was always so cheery even though she hurt so much inside.

I really hoped she would somehow wind up with Amachi in the end (cause I don't like Manaka and I knew she wouldn't wind up with him). They worked together a few times and I thought their relationship might build into something but it didn't. *sigh*

I liked Satsuki. She never really had a chance, but she was a fun character. And she served a good purpose for me. I hated Manaka for most of the show because he would always lead the girls in these fake relationships and then runaway to a different one at the climax. Satsuki was the main person who caught these. I always hoped that she'd get over him after the last one but she never did and it made me feel sorry for her. I really get attached to characters and anime/manga when there is a character that I genuinely feel sorry for.

Plus, she keeps it interesting when Nishino goes to a different school. If it was nothing buy Manaka and Toujou for those huge chunks of the manga, I would have gotten bored.

I think that Satsuki and the other girls (besides Nishino) are also one of the reasons why the whole Nishino or Toujou decision became so complicated (though Manaka being more decisive would have had a more significant effect, though lol then the manga wouldn't have been nearly as long or have had a conflict...).
Spoiler (highlight to view)
For one thing, because Nishino was at a different school, without the other girls to interupt, Toujou & Manaka would have gotten much closer and if Manaka & Nishino had still broken up, then she wouldn't have had the complicated feelings about liking someone else's boyfriend.

Now about Satsuki--I thought that it would have been great if she could have just gotten over Manaka (esp. at the end)...in paticuliar, I always expected/hoped that she would fall in love/like or date Amachi--I just thought there was something there and if they could see beyond their unresponsive loves (well, not even that, because they were never accepted as boyfriend/girlfriend by the other party involved) they could make a great couple--maybe it could have happened if they worked closely towards getting their 'loves' or something...I think a crazy girl like Sastsuki would have been good for Amachi & the refined Amachi would have been good for Satsuki (& she would have probably beeen treated better)--it also would have been somewhat funny, their arguements that is, and shown their love & comfortableness with another if it had happened (I was annoyed that we didn't see what happened to Amachi or Mukai at the end, though Mukai's future love life was insinuated...)...

i think that Satsuki was only really there so this manga can be a harem because if she was not there this could not really be consisted a harem untill near the end of the manga

Aside from adding flavor to the harem theme of the manga, Satsuki served her role as that girl whom Manaka could actually relate and as well as confide to when it comes to his indecisions and feelings.

She's strong in the sense that even though knowing that Manaka was still vacillating on which girl she'd choose, Satsuki was still persistent to win him over. Both an advantage and a disadvantage of sorts. Being aware of the situation but, at the same time, knowing it makes her not among the girls that Manaka couldn't decide on.
