Noticed a certain "scanlation" group that's just taking old releases from previous (now defunct) groups within the past few years, making minor edits in the scans then re-releasing it under their name.

Can MU remove their scanlator status or anything similar?

lol, I figured something was fishy about their releases. Every time someone added doujinshi released by them, the series would already be in the database.

http://www.mangaupdates.com/groups.html?id=5598

Contacted the main moderator of the group and they basically admitted they stole the translation of this release (from a spanish scanlator who retranslated from the original english, but still.)

After looking at their scans, all they did was add their group watermarks and change the text bubble size. Then re-released it under their name.

I can provide more screenshots and files of the original release if you need it. Just let me know.

ALL their releases except serialized manga seem plagiarized from previous groups (now defunct).

If you look through their releases you'll see the doujinshi projects have been released and completed previously by other scanlator groups.

Can you delete their scanlator status as well? Having their own original projects or not, they're still plagiarizing, and they do that on the regular with multiple doujinshi.

No. As long as they are doing original projects of their own, then they can be considered scanlators by us

Gijeumo, can you give proof of your accusations? Yaoi Otaku Translation is stating that they did not steal anything for their releases
