No, the only chance at true peace for the world is for all humans to die. Then at least less-sentient animals can live in relative peace.

Banding together against some alien force isn't world peace either. That's just interplanetary war. "The World" will still be at war in that case, it just won't be internal war any longer.

No. Like others said only if Humans were to become extinct then yes.
Even if you did get rid of all prejudice, wealth, religious beliefs (either by getting everyone to agree to one, or not believe in any), government system, along with any other reasons a war/fight can get started by; The need to have conflict, and drama in your life is too enticing.
Maybe if scientist made everyone emotionless, sure. Maybe if everyone got lobotomized, sure. smile wink grin
Believing world peace can be achieved is a naive thought smile wink grin

Exactly. At least until the next intelligent race appears on Earth and then the cycle will repeat itself ad infinitum.

Um...No. "Less-sentient" animals are NEVER in peace. Have you heard of "The Law of the Jungle"? If something, the extinction of humanity would make things worse for them, since things like animal shelters, sanctuaries, and other types of animal welfare programs would disappear and the world will completely return to the pre-human condition of "kill or be killed" and "eat or be eaten." Of course, this is under the pretense that "less-sentient animals" survive the Armageddon.

Of course, you can also claim that only if all life is to die will true world peace ever be achieved.

No, Because there are too many selfish people who think only about themselves, too many power hungry people, too many people who just don't care. no

Sure, when humanity dies out.

And for a scenario in which humanity exists, I think that the only way something close could ever be reached is for religion to be completely abolished.

You know... another way to get world peace... is for humanity to have a common enemy. A diferent enemy than hunger a poverty tho.

Heh. Stellvia of the Universe comes in mind. Humanity unites to face a common threat, starts to squibble when said threat is gone and unifies very fast once again when a similar common threat appears.

Beats Armageddon and similar disaster movies hands down.

I went with a NO regardless, of me being such a pessimist, because I don't think we will ever have such peace because every person's view and understanding is different from one another. Peace, War, Love, Hate, etc, are things that are ideally defined.

Yes.

Easily bring peace to the world with Homo Sapiens extinction.
There we have world peace. Well, natural quarrels between creatures stay.

Oh, you mean peace between humans all over the world. Then absolutely No. Sorry.

This is a bit old, but I want to expand on what gundamgundam said. The human species as it stands today will not see peace. Humans take more than they need. Kill for imaginary deities. Suppress the weak, or different. We could possibly evolve and go beyond the greed and gluttony of the human species, but we will never see that time.

I'd say that animals live closer to peace than we can ever. Most animals that are killed by others are for food, in general if an animal is able to be caught and killed by another it is sick, old or young. That being said most would die of natural causes soon enough. Carnivores don't take more than they need to survive. Its a balance and that is more or less peace.

World Peace? No more war? what kind of nonsense universe would you live in where that would be a good thing?

See sometimes like if someone had control of the whole world they would have the liberty to say the Rebellion is a rebellion instead of a Civil war. terrorists, insurgents, the whole whatever

but there would still be ...war.

that said if we ever do get faster than light travel we can probably achieve something like world peace since people will be happier if they had more space. would have to be pretty fast though and probably does not exist.

without Faster than light travel resources will be limited and there will always be war, and its the way It SHOULD be.

well either faster than light travel or infinite dimensional earths unoccupied earths. not sure how likely for a parralell earth to be unoccupied is though. even if we could reach it.

I suppose we could also invent an AI god who could IMPOSE world peace as some form of order but that's tyranny and more evil than the occasional war.

Animals cannot talk, so they ALWAY resolve their conflicts thru violence.

please refrain from idiocy.

Never. Face it, humanity is not perfect. Far from it. Honestly, I think world peace would be rather boring. Like, without conflict, everyone is a happy doll. But, that's just what I think. I would love to live someday to see world tolerance, though. Now that would be something worth working toward.

Idealistically, that'd be great but realistically, it's just not possible. People are too petty and intolerant.

i'm at peace now biggrin world peace is hard, but we should always strive for peace within our own region and sphere of influence. even if we have to suppress, kill, butcher and enslaved others -let us struggle for our own peace, thats what it means to be alive in this world.
