Alright guys,I'm looking for sentimental, melancholic musics. It doesn't have to be anime OSTs or japanese bands, it can be from any bands in the world.

The most important thing is that it needs to be melodramatic, sad yet with a tinge of happiness.

A few examples of the musics that I really, really love are:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qalGezr76o
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-ClSlzzkFI

I really hope some of you anime veterans will at least listen to the songs that i posted, and recommend something along the lines. THANKS GUYS!

I think maybe you'd like something like this:

On the anime OST front, I recommend Requiem for the Phantom and Spice and Wolf.
Both great OST albums. Here's some examples from them:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEHyPtlVzlk Tabi no Tochuu
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqzpNddoaRM Ich Beten
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRFWRvtrG0M Requiem for the Phantom

Bonus: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYzL5hN0sRE
If you want melancholy watch the anime. The style was an incredible artistic achievement.

Also why not give classical a try? Doesn't get more melancholic than that. Examples:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leSYZRmknlc Nocturne in C-Sharp Minor

Wake Up - Arcade Fire

I'm not sure if it can be considered a melancholic song, but it sure make me feeling melancholy.

It's one damn awesome song, I must say. It's got me singing the chorus while jerking my body like those of the singers. xD

I'm not an expert either, but when I read the title I immediately thought of the group Gorillaz. They'e my all times favorite group, as they got me through the deepest and darkest depression of my life. Sometimes I would just lock myself in my room and cry as their music dries my tears away.

Personal favs for this subject:

Stop the Dams
El Manana
Tomorrow Comes Today
Sound Check

Oh yes, I forgot to post what I find to be two superb melancholic songs I heard on Naruto and Shippuden, respectively.

Wind - Akeboshi

Michi ~ To You All - aluto
