Thread title says it all. I'd like the second guy to be a relatively serious love interest. By that I mean, more than a guy who's shoehorned in for the sole sake of causing drama. So naturally, I don't mind there being romantic tension there, but at the same time I'd prefer something that doesn't make my blood boil as well. Does that make sense?

Any genre or demographic is fine. Bonus points if it's not a school setting.

EDIT: To clarify, the manga must be told from the male perspective. Maybe I should've said with "male lead" instead of "male MC."

EDIT 2: I'm looking for a conventional MMF love triangle, i.e. two guys after one girl.

I think you misread, sorry... Either that, im misreading xD

But i think op means a love triangle with something like (male --> male <-- female)
Watashi ni xx shinasai doesnt have that. I dunno any either though, ive seen dozens but the male contender is usually out of the game before it even begins.

This request hinges on it being from the of the male's point of view (see: "with male MC"). Most shoujo manga tend to be from the female perspective, so that won't do. And with shoujo with male main characters, they don't necessarily a male love rival in the triangle (although I'd be interested in good ones that do).

Maybe I should've been more clear. Anyway, there are no gender dynamics built in to the "Love Triangle/s" tag, so I thought I'd try here.

Sorry, I'm still confused. I think i was wrong, so does that mean you're okay with the male MC chasing after a girl and having a serious male rival?

Anyway if you do
golden time might work, havent read it fully but the dynamics are so that im not sure who's going to end up with who. It might make your blood boil though

Yes. I'm just after a conventional MMF love triangle with a male protagonist. Conventional as in two guys after one girl. I thought my OP was straightforward but I guess some meaning was lost. Sorry about that.

Anyway, I'm watching the Golden Time anime, but Mitsuo doesn't seem to be a serious love rival for Banri (at least not right now) so that's not quite it. Thanks, though.

Sakurasaku Shoukougun probably, although there are only 4 chapters translated for now
Uwagaki kind of
Ao no Futsumashi has a bit of this but is mainly about other stuff
Salad Days has many stories with this setting, if I can recall
Touch could count, at least at the beginning
Ginen Shounen it's not that difficult to see where the plot goes though
Hoshi no Furu Machi is more of a love square, but I didn't like it

Sakamichi no Apollon You should watch the anime, if you haven't already.
Last Game Hm, It's pretty obvious what the end pairing is going to be, but I think it's significant enough to be dubbed a love triangle.
Natsuyuki Rendezvous But the other guy is a ghost (her dead husband) so there's not much to hope for on that end. This one has an anime too.
Ano Ko no, Toriko. Haven't actually read this one but it seems like it fits.

The following (mostly seinen/josei) all feature some kind of rivalry of males around at least one female character at some point ; imo all male rivals are believable "options", if not more believable than MC, at least they're not just here to be laughed at (ie. Ichigo 100%, Kimagure Orange Road) :

Maison Ikkoku male POV - romance central but triangle secondary.

Baka to Gogh multiple POVs - triangle secondary.

Honey & Clover multiple POVs - triangles secondary.

Eden no Hana girl POV - triangle central for some time.

Onani Master Kurosawa male POV - triangle secondary.

Good Ending male POV - polygons all over the place.

Aforementioned sakamichi no appolon is really nice, manga (more content) or anime (with the music)
