It can be a one-shot, or a series.
What I want is like the 2nd one shot in Natsu no Kakera, where the main girl falls in love with a guy who's in love with his childhood friend (who likes someone else). So pretty much, her love is unrequited.
And I love how the main girl bickers with the dude, haha so cute! And I love how its kinda painful that he loves his childhood friend, although the girl can't help but fall for him.
Oh and i don't like the 'damsel in distress' attitude, like overdramatic/melodramatic girls who are obsessed with finding a boyfriend and whatnot.
I prefer strong, quite nonchalant/indifferent attitudes if possible.
I also want the girl to be unpopular/plain/ordinary and isn't usually yearned by guuys
I want the girl to be mentally strong. (Like the girl i was talking about, in the 2nd one-shot of Natsu no Kakera )
i prefer non girly girls
thanks in advance!

I would say NG Life fits somewhat, but there are fantasy elements (namely reincarnation) woven into the storyline. If you don't mind that, it's worth a try.

I think Hana-kun to Koisuru Watashi will meet your preferences above, although in this story his childhood friend (kind of) is their teacher.
