Laundry
Yup a thread about laundry. ^_^

Possible questions to answer.
Do you know how to do laundry? (I feel like this is worded wrong o.o)
Do you love doing laundry or hate it?
How often do you do your laundry?
Do you do your laundry yourself? (Also do you use the dry cleaners?)
Do you just do your own laundry or others as well?
How does doing laundry make you feel?
Do you use a washer/dryer machine to do your laundry? (or washing/drying by hand/air?)
When doing your laundry do you put away your clothes right away?
Is it just a chore, something fun, something to past the time, etc ?
Would you rather do your laundry or just buy new clothes? (If you had the money).
Anything else related to laundry.

After looking back I keep finding typos in the questions. If there's more let me know ... but of course only as a sidenote.

For me I hate doing laundry. I really dread doing it, and take forever to do it. I'd rather do laundry all in one go, so I do it once or twice a week. Although I should probably do laundry more often .... I use a washer, and dryer machine. I don't really like how clothes feel hard when air dried on a clothes liner. (unless there's some hidden technique I don't know of that keeps them soft O,o ).
I guess I hate it so much because I have to do mine, my kids, and my husband's laundry. So much laundry o.O so much .... so much .....
But I do enjoy washing my sheets. Nothing comforts me more than a nice clean and crisp fitted sheet on my bed, and a warm clean blanket straight from the dryer and taking a nap (or going to sleep for the night).
If I had the money I probably would just buy new clothes all the time instead of doing laundry, but then again ... there are some outfits I love, and would have to wash ... ahhh since I have money in this situation I'll take them to get dry cleaned. laugh
I have more to say, but this should be enough for now.

-Sidenote .... really a thread about laundry? o.o I'm starting to think I have too much time, and my random thought and feelings are getting the better of me. I hope the thread is entertaining though ... Then again I personally never heard anyone ramble on and on about laundry ....

I don't do laundry...

I'm only in 9th grade and I'm Indian too. The best thing about being Asian is that no chores. Your mother does it and all she wants you to focus on is your grades. So yeah... No laundry for me...

I still help mom when she is gathering all the clothes... I sometimes help her separate the white clothes from the color, though I don't do it most of the time. Yeah... Mom's got it rough...

But now, she does a job, so maybe sooner or later, I'll have to learn to do the laundry.... none

I do all the laundry at our house (me plus three kids, 18, 18, 6).

I've been doing (or helping with) laundry since I was little (4? 5? can't remember), and I don't really mind it.

I use a washer and dryer in the winter, but in warm weather I line-dry as much as I can (and then toss everything in the dryer for ~10 minutes with no heat to soften/fluff it up). I do a couple of loads of laundry per week, & have never taken anything to the dry cleaners (most of the chemicals they use are pretty nasty).

When I was little we lived far from town & we used a wringer-washer and had no dryer. Having done the laundry that way makes the automatic washer seem amazingly quick & easy!! eyes

I usually sort out my boys' clean clothes right away & put them in their rooms (for them to put away the rest of the way) but mine often sit in the basket for a while & some things will get worn & washed again before they're ever put away.

Given the option of buying new things instead of doing the laundry, heck no!! I like the clothes I have & it's not so easy to find clothes I really like.

♦ Do you know how to do laundry?
Sure.
♦ Do you love doing laundry or hate it?
I just throw it in the machine with the weekly batch.
♦ How often do you do your laundry?
Once a week.
♦ Do you do your laundry yourself? (Also do you use the dry cleaners?)
Sometimes. Most of the time I don't bother, because I have someone to do it for me, so.
We don't have a dry cleaner. In the same breath - we don't have a dish washer, either.
♦ Do you just do your own laundry or others as well?
If all I need to do is throw the laundry in the machine, then sure, why not.
♦ How does doing laundry make you feel?
I don't like touching other people's dirty laundry (heh), so it makes me feel icky unless it's mine in which case I don't care.
♦ Do you use a washer/dryer machine to do your laundry? (or washing/drying by hand/air?)
Some stuff needs to be washed by hand. They all air dry.
♦ When doing your laundry do you put away your clothes right away?
After I sniff and roll in the pile.
♦ Is it just a chore, something fun, something to past the time, etc ?
It's a chore.
♦ Would you rather do your laundry or just buy new clothes? (If you had the money).
If I had the money, I'd pay someone to always do it. I have clothes I really like~
♦ Anything else related to laundry.
I still remember when we used to soak and hand wash bras.
Actually, it wasn't that long ago, lol.

♦ Do you know how to do laundry? Yes, I started helping with laundry during middle school

♦ Do you love doing laundry or hate it? Don't mind it

♦ How often do you do your laundry? Every 3-4 weeks. I have enough clothes that I could go over a month without doing laundry, but I start running out of room to put my dirty clothes

♦ Do you do your laundry yourself? (Also do you use the dry cleaners?) Yes. I have very few clothes that need dry cleaning

♦ Do you just do your own laundry or others as well? Just my own

♦ How does doing laundry make you feel? I don't have many feelings about it.

♦ Do you use a washer/dryer machine to do your laundry? (or washing/drying by hand/air?) Yes. I lived in China for several months and had to line dry my clothes for the first time (I might've had a few shirts that couldn't be put in the dryer, but this is the first time I had to air dry all of my clothes). Summer wasn't too bad, but in the winter it would take 3-5 days for my clothes to dry which was super annoying.

♦ When doing your laundry do you put away your clothes right away? Nope. I usually fold and put the clothes away the next day. Putting away clothes is the most annoying part because I like to organize my drawers so that clothes I haven't worn lately are at the top. So I can't just put new laundry on top.

♦ Is it just a chore, something fun, something to past the time, etc ? I guess just a chore. Not my favorite or least favorite.

♦ Would you rather do your laundry or just buy new clothes? (If you had the money). Laundry. I have clothes that I really like and want to wear more than once. I don't see the point of buying copies of the same clothes just so I won't have to do laundry. Although, I think what rich people do is have their maids or a laundry service do their laundry. But I don't think I would want other people doing my laundry

♦ Anything else related to laundry. @Kitty18dnsz I think laundry won't be such a burden once your kids get older. When I started doing laundry in middle school, my family (4 of us) would do all of our laundry together once a week and it was annoying having to do so much laundry. But sometime during high school I decided to do my laundry on my own, so I could start doing laundry less often. So you can start teaching your kids how to do laundry (maybe just start them off with folding) or switch chores with your husband.

No I think even when my kids do start doing their own laundry (or helping out) I still wouldn't like it. I don't like cleaning in general, but it's odd I like organizing things, but not cleaning. You would think those two hand and hand wouldn't you laugh .

I guess I should follow the same format as everyone else
♦ Do you know how to do laundry? (I feel like this is worded wrong o.o)
Yes, I know how to do laundry.

♦ Do you love doing laundry or hate it?
I don't hate many things, but I am leaning more towards hate on this matter.

♦ How often do you do your laundry?
Once a week, or every 3 days. It depends on how messy my kids are.

♦ Do you do your laundry yourself? (Also do you use the dry cleaners?)
Yes, I do my own laundry. Never used the dry cleaners before, but if I were to get a $100+ dress or something I may. (Do a lot of research on the place 1st then trust them to clean it.)

♦ Do you just do your own laundry or others as well?
I do everyone's laundry. Which includes my own, my husbands, and my two sons.

♦ How does doing laundry make you feel?
Not that happy. I start thinking it's never ending, which triggers me to think of the never ending story song, which I don't like that much, so it gets stuck.

♦ Do you use a washer/dryer machine to do your laundry? (or washing/drying by hand/air?)
I use a washer, and dryer machine. For things that say to be air dried I still put in the dryer, but with no heat.

♦ When doing your laundry do you put away your clothes right away?
Almost never. They usually sit in a basket of clean clothes for a while ...
The only thing I do put away right away is my undies. (Probably because I was them separately, and I'm able to put them all in one drawer straight from the dryer.)

♦ Is it just a chore, something fun, something to past the time, etc ?
Chore seems like a light word to use. I would say endurance test lol. Can you make it through the pile of dirty clothes or fail, have to have continue this tomorrow. Stay tune and find out.
(Odd how my endurance test turned out to be some TV show when expressing it in words ...)

♦ Would you rather do your laundry or just buy new clothes? (If you had the money).
I don't really get attached much to clothes so like I said I would rather buy new ones. The ones I do like I would probably pay someone to wash them for me. (That one kind of slip my mind ...) but then again I do feel conflicted with having someone else touch my clothes, and wanting to do them myself so it's done the way I like (or something).

♦ Anything else related to laundry.
- Ahhh Yes I use to dread doing laundry even more back when I had to go take my clothes to a laundry mat.
- OHHH I should try that (referring to TofuQueen comment about air drying)
- I'm glad I'm not the only one that talked about laundry.
I probably have more to say about laundry for for another time.

How queer. A thread about doing the laundry. And I just did mine earlier.

♦ Do you know how to do laundry? (I feel like this is worded wrong o.o)
Yes, I do.

♦ Do you love doing laundry or hate it?
Not love. Not hate. Just something that needs to be done.

♦ How often do you do your laundry?
Once or twice a week.

♦ Do you do your laundry yourself? (Also do you use the dry cleaners?)
Yes. And I don't use the dry cleaners and washing machine. I handwash everything. Even the towels and blankets.

♦ Do you just do your own laundry or others as well?
I do my some of my mother's laundry, especially the heavy ones. And sometimes my brother's school uniform.

♦ How does doing laundry make you feel?
It feels great AFTER. I love smelling the clothes I washed

♦ Do you use a washer/dryer machine to do your laundry? (or washing/drying by hand/air?)
Handwash. Depending on the weather, sometimes I use the dryer.

♦ When doing your laundry do you put away your clothes right away?
When it's dry, I do.

♦ Is it just a chore, something fun, something to past the time, etc ?
Chore. Don't know anyone who does it for fun.

♦ Would you rather do your laundry or just buy new clothes? (If you had the
money).
Do the laundry. It's such a waste even if I have money.

♦ Anything else related to laundry. laugh
I absolutely refuse to do other's underwears.

The above, except that I am in 12th grade and my father handles the laundry. He is the admin for separating, washing (in the machine of course), drying (on the clothesline) and putting the clothes away. The maid folds up the clothes.

I am sometimes asked to help out with putting away the clothes, but I absolutely hate it. I do all the chores I am asked to do without any complaints except for the aforementioned.

♦ Do you know how to do laundry? (I feel like this is worded wrong o.o)
Yes
♦ Do you love doing laundry or hate it?
Don't love it but I absolutely don't hate it either. It gives me an excuse to watch a tv show or whatever when I'm folding and it gives me a time limit to do certain things like good and eat breakfast within 40 minutes or so.
♦ How often do you do your laundry?
Once a week. I don't need to do it a few times a week since I don't do laundry for other people BUT my mom only does it on the weekends--a few loads so I don't understand why my coworker does it every single morning. Total waste of water no? Don't give me crap about being environmental when you waste all that water every day.
♦ Do you do your laundry yourself? (Also do you use the dry cleaners?)
Yes and No.
I live on a college campus so I have to do my own laundry
♦ Do you just do your own laundry or others as well?
No but maybe I'll start helping with doing the laundry at home more (doing laundry as in something other than folding)
♦ How does doing laundry make you feel?
Clean and organized
♦ Do you use a washer/dryer machine to do your laundry? (or washing/drying by hand/air?)
By machine. I share an apartment with roommates and I find it disgusting when someone is washing their underwear in the bathroom sink. Use a wash basin.
♦ When doing your laundry do you put away your clothes right away?
Yes I do, after folding them because if I don't do it then, I'll have to do it later anyway so might as well. I fold laundry on my bed which is next to my drawer so it's not even a step away.
♦ Is it just a chore, something fun, something to past the time, etc ?
Something to past the time I suppose. I'm a professional self handicapper and I'm quite ashamed to say I love to fill my days with busy work that appears important but not as important as studying or doing hw and such.
♦ Would you rather do your laundry or just buy new clothes? (If you had the money).
Do laundry. I hate the idea of people throwing out clothes just because they've worn it before and such. It's such a huge waste of money. I love to shop but I don't think I want to always have to buy new clothes....
♦ Anything else related to laundry.
takes me about 1.5 to 2 hrs to do laundry. I also do it early in the morning like 8 on Saturdays because less people are awake and the laundry machines won't be taken.

♦ Do you know how to do laundry? (I feel like this is worded wrong o.o)
Kinda? Though, I don't know to operate a dryer since I don't own one.
♦ Do you love doing laundry or hate it?
It's tedious.
♦ How often do you do your laundry?
Once a week.
♦ Do you do your laundry yourself? (Also do you use the dry cleaners?)
I do it myself.
♦ Do you just do your own laundry or others as well?
I wash my clothes with my sister's.
♦ How does doing laundry make you feel?
I don't know.
♦ Do you use a washer/dryer machine to do your laundry? (or washing/drying by hand/air?)
Washing machine and dry by air.
♦ When doing your laundry do you put away your clothes right away?
No, sometimes, I don't bring my dry clothes up days.
♦ Is it just a chore, something fun, something to past the time, etc ?
It's a chore.
♦ Would you rather do your laundry or just buy new clothes? (If you had the money).
Do laundry.

♦ Do you know how to do laundry? (I feel like this is worded wrong o.o)
Yes.
♦ Do you love doing laundry or hate it?
I don't mind it.
♦ How often do you do your laundry?
Eh, whenever I need clean underwear really, and also when my boyfriend (who lives in the residence halls) needs me to wash his clothes.
♦ Do you do your laundry yourself? (Also do you use the dry cleaners?)
Yes, my apartment has a washer/dryer.
♦ Do you just do your own laundry or others as well?
Me and my boyfriend's and I'm at school, at home I sometimes do family member(s)' clothes.
♦ How does doing laundry make you feel?
Er, doesn't make me feel any different. It's just laundry, a chore. I need some clean clothes.
♦ Do you use a washer/dryer machine to do your laundry? (or washing/drying by hand/air?)
Yes, but I air dry my jeans so the color doesn't fade.
♦ When doing your laundry do you put away your clothes right away?
Yeah, I don't want wrinkles.
♦ Is it just a chore, something fun, something to past the time, etc ?
Chore and passes the time.
♦ Would you rather do your laundry or just buy new clothes? (If you had the money).
Hahaha if I was rich I would totally keep buying clothes if I could.
♦ Anything else related to laundry.
My dryer is pretty shitty, and I have to turn it back on to dry my clothes like at least three times to completely dry my clothes.
