basically i'm looking for a lead like shiroe in Log Horizon(the anime). i want a story where the overall vibe isnt all that serious(so no deathnote or code geass and such), but the main char is analytic, is support class, and willing to be more or less ruthless when required. I.E. him basically blackmailing the guilds into fixing the world and jacking the resources to do that through misinformation.
anyway overall point is a smart lead in a story that isnt filled with death and tragedy
required:
support class mc(cant do much of anything on his own)
analytic and ruthless
lighthearted enough setting
forbidden:
tragedy filled
mc that whines and punches everything
preferred:
mmo or fantasy setting

Legend of the Sun Knight & the novel version Legend of the Sun Knight (novel)
Hilarious in general. The novels are further along plotwise, and it does get kinda dark, but I don't think it's tragic or angst ridden though.

And if you were to read this manga, try Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai!(anime) for the sequel..
-The mc cannot do any fighting at all, so, he leaves it to others.

in case anyone else is looking for these i tried all of the above other than 12 beast and vouch they are great, and recommend an anime called Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere featuring a support class main character who acts like an idiot, but seems to be a less confusing version of good old captain tylor the genius in disguise
also still need a few more to get my fix. log horizons incomplete status left a large hole.
