I want to read a manga that involves an asexual character. Read about asexuality here if you're unfamiliar with it. What I want specifically:

Yes:
- Not sexually attracted to anyone
- Does not become sexually attracted to anyone
- Asexuality is brought to attention and explored

No:
- General disinterest in opposite sex, not necessarily/doesn't explore asexuality (Luffy from OP, Keima from TWGOK, Rai from Noblesse).
- Forced into the lack of sexual attraction (eunuch, other physical issues)

Please note that asexual does not necessarily means aromantic. An asexual character in a romantic relationship would be ideal actually, since it has more opportunity to explore the topic.

I'm not expecting many fitting series, so all genres are open. Yaoi is loved. Thank you!

Tried it out, but he seems to be more "not attracted to others" rather than "not sexually attracted to others".

I unfortunately can't think of any, but I would love to see an asexy main character! Go representation!

What about this thread? http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?page=1&tid= 20408

I would like to see a good character like that, but I can't really think of any.

Yay asexiness!

I looked through that thread before, but most if not all of the suggestions are just characters who are generally disinterested in people. Though, I still need to look into Self. It sounds a little promising.

This may help.
I've also read a paper about thsi based on relationship between characters in certain manga. Unfortunately I forgot the title. All I know is that it's pretty old, not translated, about robots and I think the primary relationship is between parents and their robot daughter.

This is an interesting request, but I hard one to find something one I think. I would really like to read about an asexual manga character, but to be very honest, I don't think I've come across a truly asexual character.
Good luck in your search. (An asexual shonen-ai might be interesting and cute to read.)

Eek, it's been a while. Bump! I checked out Self, and the protagonist does seem to be asexual. It's been dropped though.

Still looking! Thanks!

This is just a one-shot, but the first story in Shuuseki Kairo no Himawari (Keep Those Condoms Away From Our Kids).

(Aces unite!)

My best guess is Jaehee from Let Dai if you're interested in shounen-ai, which is the only one who explores his sexuality enough to be on this list.
Azuki and Mashiro from Bakuman have an asexual relationship and it doesn't seem like that will change much. Takagi and his girlfriend do comment about it at one point or another. Light from Death Note doesn't feel any sexual or romantic attraction either, but kind of ignores that anyway and does whatever he wants.
I could tell you a few characters I like to believe are asexual, though I don’t know if they explore their asexuality enough for your liking: the main character of Sakamichi no Apollon (I forgot his name), Yukionna from Nura (platonic attraction here, no sexuality mentioned), Hotaru from Gakuen Alice (romantic attraction, sexuality not brought to attention), Haruhi from Ouran High School Host Club (also non-binary). Maybe even Karin from Karin. I also like to believe that Shiro from Deadman Wonderland is ace but... yeah. It doesn't specifically say so anywhere...

Well, I hope one of those help!
