ok so there are only 3 techniques available to a mangekyo user: tsukoyomi, amaterasu, and susanoo. im wondering what kakashi's mangekyo trick is. it seems he is warping space so is it susanoo? if i recall correctly madara has a fourth mangekyo technique which he created himself when he stole his brothers eyes. seeing as how kakashi took obito's eye, is his technique a perversion of the fourth possible technique or is it the incompltete version of susanoo?

I'm more curious as to how he got the mangekyou sharingan in the first place. According to Itachi, you would have to kill your closest friend in order to obtain it. It's not as if Kakashi killed Obito with his own hands and even if he did he didn't have the sharingan at that time so that couldn't have been the trigger. There must be another way to get it because I just can't see Kakashi as the type who would kill a friend in cold blood. So how did he get it?

yea, this is a pretty good question...but i really don't want to know, seeing as how he is my fav character, and he is better off with the mystery around him.

You're right, you develop your sharingan by killing your closet friend, and then kill your brother and take his eyes, which is what Madara did, taking your brothers eyes only gives you the ability to keep your eyesight and gain some power. You actually develop mangekyou depeneding on how you train your eye i thnk Kakashi is susanoo but hasn't fully deeloped it as he is not of the same bloodine.

I think you are misunderstanding something here deathinvenice. Nobody ever said anything in the manga about the Mangekyo Sharingan having the same powers for each user. If you try a little harder and think about it, you will probably realize that Kakashi's Mangekyo looks different than Madara's and Itachi's and has another power than Itachi's. You might come to the conclusion that each Mangekyo is different...

The facts so far:
-all Mangekyo users so far have been drawn with different eyes.
-Kakashi used a power different from Itachi.

From this we can easily derive that Itachi's 3 techniques are only his own.
As of yet we have no evidence that all Mangekyo powers are related.

That is possible, however then whats the point of the Mangekyo Sharingan to be drawn differently for each individual.
Is the normal Sharingan drawn differently for each person? No. Why? Because every Sharingan user has the power to copy Jutsus.
Madara's Mangekyo is different than Kakashi's and Itachi's versions. It is drawn differently.

Has Madara been drawn with the same Mangekyo as Itachi, then I would've agreed with you about the bloodline thing.

Yup in one of the latest chapters when Itachi lectures Sasuke about the Mangekyo, theres a flashback to Madara and his brother. You can see their eyes.

didnt kakashi say this was his own version of mangekyou sharingan and that he developed it himself...so dosent that mean its just an imitation of it?

isn't the killing of your friend psychological, like if you're in the military and all your friends around you are dying and you blame yourself for not being able to save them. even though it isn't your fault you still suffer from the guilt. kakashi blames himself for obito's death, if he wouldn't have been so uptight none of that would have happened. in any case what im saying is if you believe are responsible for someones death there is no difference if you pulled the trigger or not. its the same chemical reactions occurring in the same way inside your brain and the same guilt.

if stealing your brothers eyes creates a new technique, then that would imply the three techniques, tsukyoumi, amaterasu, & susanoo, are shared by all mangekyou users otherwise new techniques would be created all the time and the significance of this 'super new technique" is diminished.

Wow, this thread interested me so much that i registered. Do none of you remember the fight between Kakashi and Itachi in which Itachi used the Mangenkyou Sharingan on Kakashi, using the Tsukuyomi technique to trap him in the world torturing him for 72 "Genjutsu Hours?" Do you not believe that Kakashi may have possible made an attempt to copy the mangenkyou sharingan and make his own version of it?

^never thought of that. But doesn't he just copy jutsu? I don't see how he could copy a physical attribute.
