I just submitted Viz Media's Weekly Shonen Jump as a scanlation group.
It did not get approved.
Why? Crunchyroll as a scanlation group is okay but Shonen Jump isn't? SJ releases free chapters, too...

I imply nothing.
I just find it weird. We've had other companies (of course none illegal turned legal) who had their first chapters on the net for free for the public to read before buying the manga. So this shouldn't cause any problems...

No, remove CR from releases completely, or at least give us an option to rid of it from our custom lists. Sorry, I don't support CR, I won't, I even can't because of region restrictions. This is the most hypocrite company I've seen in recent years.
I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but they started simul-pubs from middle of some manga under assumption that people will go to batoto, mangafox or download previous scanlated volumes, because official releases are not available in English. They create stink and illusion of access to manga which leads scanlators to drop manga. As a result, they will not be available soon at all. That's why keeping CR releases on MU lists is a step backward, it creates only problems and messes with whole scanlation fandom. CR is not a scanlation group, it's a publishing company. I think there is no place for them here.

I support this petition even though I don't know if its already approved or not since it's not a locked topic.
Although CR may be a publishing company but they're still a scanlation because they do scanlate and although its poor quality/quantity its still a group. And even though you don't support CR, there are others who do...well very few...since many dislike CR as a scanlation. But anyways, I didn't say I disagree on your suggestion nor did I agree but I feel that it should be based on whether they accept them as a publisher or a scanlator or even both.

I submitted it again today. It still did not get approved.
I guess Weekly Shonen Jump isn't really a scanlation group then... even if they are quite similar to CR. Please lock this thread.

Why do you feel that CR can be considered a scanlator and WSJ (or Viz) isn't?
And for the record, someone else rejected the group before I even woke up
