I'm looking for a good light shonen romance with romance as its focal point (not just a teaser, mind you?) :

- no harem or triangle except reverse triangle (think of it like reverse-harem), or a teaser or a light one, or chain romance.
- focus on romance/relationship.
- ecchi is fine, comedy is fine but definitely not drama. but a light drama is fine too.
- preferably, a finished series.
- preferably, have proper romance/relationship buildup without relying too much on 'romantic comedy moments' (e.g. accidentally: walking at girls bath, up-down position, breast grabbing, ect).
- romance can be humble, subtle, explicit or passionate.
- if the focal point is not the romance itself, is fine as long as the romance part is not too over-saturated with the main theme.
- oneshot, anthology, serial, are fine.

A good example would be:
- Shinonome Yuuko wa Tanpen Shousetsu o Aishite Iru,
- Cross Game (Basically, stuff made by Adachi but this title in particular is very fitting),
- Horimiya,
- Hatsukoi Gentei
- Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai +

What about Rave Master, seems to fit your agenda.

It seems to me that you're asking for shounen romance that's, well, not really shounen romance, lol. There are some shounen manga WITH romance that are good... but SHOUNEN ROMANCE manga tend to be melodramatic s***, or light fluff that doesn't much go anywhere, or just your typical harem/ecchi crap...

Angel Densetsu is a great comedy manga WITH some romance on the side...

If you liked Cross Game you should like Touch.

I would totally recommend you 14-sai no Koi, but it's josei. Then there is Choku!, but it's more comedic than romantic.

Maybe Tonari no Kashiwagi-san could work. It has strong emphasis on romance and I don't remember any harems or love triangles. Oh wait, it's seinen... and I thought it was shounen.

real shounen? with transforming heroes, world destruction, half naked girls falling from the sky and inexcusably stupid leads? I really don't get what a real shounen should be...

here a probably some of your fake-shounen:
Hatsukiai
Hitorimi Haduki-san to.
Kurenai Ouji

some that are not (I guess) but of course have less romance:
Monochrome Myst
Shindere Shoujo to Kodoku na Shinigami
Allison
Carnivorous Princess Yegrinna
Chou Dokyuu Shoujo 4946
Hanako to Guuwa no Tera
Kaitai Shinsho Ø
Love Allergen
Magico (IWAMOTO Naoki)
Midori no Hibi
Sore wa Totsuzen, Unmei no Aite ga

that being said, most of them aren't that good because they don't really have much depth (romance-wise), but well, that's shounen romance without any drama...

I can understand your issues with shonen romance and/or shonen with romance. That was why I've filtered it (read again my first post) smile

Sorry for the confusion, I've edited my first post.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Ever read shonen title written by female author? Sometimes it doesn't feel that different from any other shonen title, but sometimes it feels very close towards shoujo. This thread might help understanding what I'm talking about. In general I don't particularly mind this kind of thing. But, when it comes down to romance, it just feels kind of itchy. Not necessarily bad, just uncomfortable or it feels something is off.

Anyway, thanks for the list, I'll check it later biggrin

If you liked Hatsukoi Gentei, try Musunde Hiraite (MINASE Mayu). It's not complete tho.

What about seinen? There are a few that are gold, but not as complicated as seinen tend to be.

These are all complete:
Hetakoi
Emma mostly drama tho, but happy ending.
Ashita Dorobou
Boku to Watashi no Henai Jijou
Mahoraba
Countrouble slight triangle, doesn't last
Tasogare Otome x Amnesia some drama
School Rumble mostly comedy, slow progression
Renai Shimasen ka?
Koisome Momiji some triangles

Well, mostly I only read Seinen and Josei when it comes down to Romance (mostly short series and oneshots). Until Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai introduced me new romance dynamics within Shonen genre, and recently Shinonome Yuuko wa Tanpen Shousetsu o Aishite Iru piqued my curiosity "What if vanilla romance (which usually found in Shoujo) being written by male author and aimed towards shonen demographic?".

Shonen/Seinen basically they're the same but aimed at different demographic. And sometimes, just because it was published in Seinen magazine, some title was consided a seinen Tonari no Kashiwagi-san is a good example. Or another way around, like Otaku no Musume-san. Or a famous case: Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle which has more female fans rather than male laugh
Thus why I emphasized on "real shonen manga". But its fine now, I can filter it by myself. smile

From your list, I've found:

- Kurenai Ouji (Still ongoing)
- Monochrome Myst (Isn't it seinen confused)
- Shindere Shoujo (Indefinite hiatus)
- Hanako ('heavier' contents (I did say/type 'light'))
- Love Allergen (In the information it did says 'love triangle')

Other than that, I'm currently reading Sore wa Totsuzen, Choku! and Hatsukiai. The rest (Hitorimi Haduki, Kaitai Shinsho, Super Dreadnought Girl, Magico) went to my plan-to-read.

nb: I also stumbled upon some manga which still in my spectrum: Toriko no Onnanoko (15 Sai), Wa! (KOJIMA Akira) from the author of Mahoraba, And Yuuhi Romance. The latter is terrible tho.

kurenai ouji - yeah you said you preferred if it was completed but didn't restrict it to that
monochrome myst - genre says shounen, has some thicker plot though
shindere shoujo - I think it was just a 6 month break because of some health issues, and they are cute
hanako - that may be true
love allergen - yeah but it's mostly pretending with the one and true romance between the other girl, very simple but cute read wink

just read go Bonnouji (seinen) bigrazz
