Yo, I've been wondering what everyones view is on anything canon. I myself have a tendency to dislike most everything canon and perfer the obscure or less favored options in a manga. Almost constantly I find myself liking things that go against the obvious layout of a story.

Thats why I figured I'd find out. Share your thoughts...

Are you a follower of canon who believe the story should stay how it is written?

or

Do you perfer to break away from canon and imagine of things could be different?

I go for absolute canon EVERYTHING!. Unless before I actually read/watch it, and strongly influenced by online *ahem* fanart.

(Btw, I think this would've been better as a poll too...)

I thought about doing that, not sure why I didn't

@fallofkakashi: Canon is pretty much the story from A to Z unchanged. It also constitutes any romance that is expected to happen

Ex) In Naruto, Sasuke x Sakura, Nartuo x Hinata, Naruto x Sakura are all classified as canon pairings as they are the most likley to occur.

NaruxHina
SasuxSaku
ShikaxTemi
and so on.

but i also go for Obscure things at times as well, like UlqxHime.

I'm the type that doesn't favor canon most of the time. For example, I like more unusual pairings than the 'canon' ones.

Canon all the way for the main characters, obscure for the secondary characters. If there are no hints however I go with obscure..and I mean REALLY obscure. Stuff that would make people go like "wtf...?"

Well you can't 100% sure say something is utterly canon before it is 100% fact in the actual story, and the story is done. But I get your drift. Basically this is a way to grow expectations on a series. And it can ruin your impressions of it if those expectations gets out of hand lol. Like they often do. I don't like to get too high expectations, so I try to "stay canon". biggrin cool

We all saw what happens when a show gets out of canon, NEGIMA!?, now that season was real shit, ok everybody loves a little non-canon stuff, but this was just awful

You mean the anime? Cause I stopped it when it stopped following canon. Even though I perfer the obscure I don't like animes based on manga going a completley different direction. If it had stuck to the manga it would have been a bigger show and had a lot of cool action scenes biggrin
