You seem like the type to enjoy Shingeki no kyojin since it blew up with popularity, more people are willing to overlook the more gruesome aspects of it. Or revel in it.

My #1 all time favorite is not my #1 recommendation since I want to be sensitive to taste.....probably Yotsubato! as a safe, everyone-can-read rec.

I'd have to go with Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn!

I honestly can't guarantee that you'll like it past the first 150 chapters or so because I just haven't had time to catch up (or rather, finish). Even so, I can say that while the very beginning is ridiculous to the point of almost being a turn-off, I like the art, the humor, and the action; plus, the plot doesn't stay boring long enough for me to actually want to quit it. In fact, I think I'll probably be spending my weekend reading it instead of doing inductive proofs like I'm supposed to...I can feel my GPA dropping already.

For similar reasons, Eyeshield 21.

Quote from lover-fighter
...
I'm looking for something to gush over (something I'll talk about to people that don't really want to listen).

laugh

7 Seeds - by the mangaka of Basara, I think you will love this. Action and romance at the end of the world. People are forced to make choices that will break your heart. Ongoing.
The One - about the modeling world. Very funny, with developing romance. Ongoing.
Angel Sanctuary - Setsuna really loves his sister, but that's the least of his problems, as he finds out he is the reincarnation of an angel. Everyone has more than one identity. Goes from heaven to hell and back again. I haven't finished it yet, because I was tearing through it too fast. Also recommend just about anything by YUKI Kaori.

Seconding:
Fullmetal Alchemist - one of the best. Strong characters, a complex plot that makes sense and doesn't feel as if she's making it up as she goes, must read (or watch).
Yotsubato! - I've never heard anyone say they didn't like it.

I also love Fruits Basket and Tokyo Crazy Paradise.

Yokohama Shopping Trip

Manga really doesn't get much better than this. Slow (really slow) slice of life set in a post-apocalyptic world centred on Alpha, a robot who is looking after her owner's coffee shop while he's away, and that description doesn't do justice to it. Complete in about 140 chapters.

Thanks everyone!! Your reco's look great. I look forward to testing the waters!

Gunslinger Girl... I tried the anime and didn't care for it but the manga looks way better so that's one I'll try.
Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn I also tried… that's currently in my "on hold" list. I might just need to be in the mood for it. Same goes for Noblesse.
Chichi Kogusa looks SUPER CUTE!! I've got to try it!
Shin Angyo Onshi has been on my list for awhile so so I'll try that one soon too.
Tower of God tickled my fancy… Plus I love webtoons 'cause they're full color. Just adds a little more yummy details for me!
I also love the debate on Kubera. laugh I found it right before I posted this so I'm glad there was so much passion for it! <3
I'm a little turned off by Chang Ge Xing and Shingeki no Kyojin but I'll read a few chapters and see how it goes. If I can't put them down then so be it. biggrin And if not I'll archive it… no harm just trying them!
Sora wa Akai Kawa no Hotori is probably the one I'll read next… I've just been putting it off lately lol

All others I've either already read or I've saved them and will read them soon. Thanks again!!

DICE: The Cube that Changes Everything
six half

Because it's a few manga that I left me hanging for days, these two are so good, seriously
And it's so UNDERRATED that I want people to check them out more.

This list are the best trust me, I rated them differently too.
