I as well believe in the afterlife so I'd rather be a mortal.
I believe that things happen when they have to happen be it an illness or a painful death.
Besides I just can't imagine not dying or aging. To me life would be too dull if i were immortal. I wouldn't have any goals in life because since I can live forever, it won't matter if i don't eat or sleep.

I think that living a good amount of time as regular human being is preferable. I get to do things once and not regret things over too much, because since life is short I have to enjoy it. =)

immortal is the best option, if life get bored you can always suicide

invincible safe from external force huh? it doesnt say you will have superpower so what about if you get locked up in prison by people who envy you, and what worse u get buried alive

immortal and invincible is worst, what if above + u cant die so the agony wont end

but the best thing of all is to become a god, who can create and manipulate the world, just like playing game except the game has incredible AI and wont stop make something new, perfect games

Mortal. Life has meaning, only when death exists. Of course... there's being immortal too, but that's probably gonna hurt a lot, and there's the problem with moral limitations. Not that I'm particularly against it, but I just can't see myself suiciding. Don't got the guts. But then again, life is already boring as it is, if I don't suicide or get killed, it's gonna be VERY tiring, and I'll go crazy. So mortal is still the option that suits me best, if given choice. I think, any being, that lives beyond its lifespan, will go crazy. Wether that's 1 day, 10 years, 50 years, or 5000 years.

There's also the being invincible option... but that, just doesn't suit me. Too little risk. I can totally see myself starting to get annoyed by it. Not to mention it's definitely gonna drive quite a lot of ppl into depression, to know that they WILL die, despite being invincible. Kinda like giving false hope, and something I don't want either ways. Besides, who wants to play a game that has no risks? That would be BORING!

As much as I would like the third option, I don't want to ever be alive without the option of suicide.

Be immortal (no death from natural causes, but external forces can kill)

This one is closest to what I'd want. (I'd want a system similar to a phoenix.)

I'd like to be the first three, they all are something I'd like to try, but if I was to chose one without being able to change it back I'll probably stay like this.

Reading manga makes you think a lot about some things, like when characters are immortal, invincible or both, it'll make you think; What if it was ME? Of course I've thought of it too, I ended with this conclusion;

If,

-You're invincible, fighting and anything that could hurt you won't matter to you, this is the closer you can get to mortal people, the psychological pressure it puts on your mind is minimal but you'll become overconscientious of: poisons, sickness, aging, etc. If you don't mind it you can live your life normally or try something new with it, like skating, you can smash your face on the ground all you want.

-You're immortal & invincible, you can technically do whatever you want, you have all the time in the world and nothing can kill you, but you can get bored of life, and star using this phrase: I can do it tomorrow, you don't have to worry about anything, you can do it whenever you want after all you have all the time you would ever want, but in the end you'll see all your friends and family dying, including your boy/girlfriend & children if you end up having some, it'll probably break your mind after a few times.

-You're immortal, this is probably the worse, you'll probably become self aware of many things, like cars, if anything happens to the system of a car it can end up crashing into you or a wall while you're inside, you'll probably die from that, but we don't mind it so much for it to affect us, unless it's the only way you can die. This and the pressure from all the people close to you will probably break you.

After all this thinking I decided I want to be a normal alien a I've been all my life biggrin .

There's a video that's more precise about immortality http://ed.ted.com/lessons/if-superpowers-were-real-immortality-j oy-lin

Be immortal as a consequence of other abilities.

I don't want to live forever. How boring will that be. Go out in a blaze of glory I say!

I want the absolute immortality, I will try it all, see it all, and live trough it all... and then, when i had done all i could ever think of doing, and all the things i would later understand i wanted to do, i would silently and gladly receive an eternity of boredom and loneliness as my fitting punishment for such a pleasure filled life.

All good things in life are achieved trough sacrifice, and the rewards's hardly ever as valuable as the sacrifice, so what's wrong with accepting an infinity of pleasure in exchange for an infinity of pain.

Everyone is replaceable?? Even your loved ones?? You have a warped mind my friend. You definitely need to mature. I truly hope you change your views.

Living forever is a curse, BTW. First two options are best.

Yup, pretty much what I said.. Everyone..

Another,
coincidentally, I just finished watching Nisemonogatari, and there was the Phoenix spirit there,
Its power, you won‘t die due to sickness nor external causes, but you will age and die from it,
The good part is, that when you die, you will be reborned inside another womans womb, (but I don‘t know if you keep your memories, if not, this sucks and is just pretty much just reincarnation,
But if you keep your memories, then this is awesome..)

Edit:
Explain:
I don‘t really hate my family, if anything, I love them, I mean, they pretty much let me do what I please anyway now that I‘m old enough, but they were strict with my studies back then, so I didn‘t really develop a deep attachment to them..

They are replaceable, but I would not really want to replace them either way though...

T At first I thought I'd like to be immortal and invincible. But it felt like that would be very lonely and boring. So I voted for the second choice, to be invincible. I've read this book where they age very, very slowly, living hundreds of years. So they do age. And they get sick but they could heal themselves and they had superpowers. Something like that would be ideal for me. It was the Carpathians series by Christine Feehan, I think.

I chose the first one. I wouldn't mind dying with a bullet in the head, but dying by sickness is one of the most painful things one can suffer. You are in pain and unable to do anything about it. If I can die by external forces, it can be quick if I want it to be.

wow sounds awesome. I think I'll check that series out. Sounds similar to why I chose invincibility as well. It's flaky to choose immortality but have the option to still die (which is the reason why most people seem to choose it). What is immortality if it is not to defeat death?
