Hello! So, there are all these manga that deal with blackmail and harassment and such - y'know, the "I have a photo of you in an embarrassing situation, so you have to be my slave from now on!" type of situations. I'm tired of them being played out lightly/comically all the time, so I wanted to see something different with the same situation.
I want to see a manga in which the harasser blackmails or bullies the victim casually, not realizing that it's a serious matter to the victim. The victim eventually reaches a point where s/he does something drastic (maybe a suicide attempt, self-harm, general insanity, hospitalization from stress) in which the harasser realizes it has gone too far. Lastly, the harasser must be remorseful about the matter. And no tragedies please!
Examples:
Sono Kuchibiru ni Yoru no Tsuyu - perfect example. Goes for the insanity route.
Life - there are moments like this with the victims and minor bullies.
Thank you!

One of the arcs in Shigofumi(anime), deals with bulling, but
So, I'm not sure if it fits your request.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
the first kid who was bullied commits suicide, while the second one kills one of the bullies and goes to juvenile.
So, I'm not sure if it fits your request.

Gekkou Chou. The fourth story. They aren't really remorseful but they do realize that they've gone too far (too late though)...
Fever. It's about one of the bullies (or something like that) but the theme is there.

Even though the bullied girl commits suicide it manages to end happy-ish...

I wouldn't say that it has a real happy ending but not heartwrenchingly sad either.
Everybody doesn't get a happy ending.

Kasane (MATSUURA Daruma) fits pretty well, but there are supernatural forces at play.
Also agree with Koe no Katachi.
Also agree with Koe no Katachi.
I don't think Koe no Katachi quite fits...Nishimiya's "breaking point" was more of a positive thing ("not putting up with it", rather than "breaking down from it"), and Ishida's bullies have yet to really show remorse. Hoping for it in the future though.
I tried reading a few chapters of Aku no Hana, and it doesn't seem to fit. The initial situation is right, but it doesn't look like it'll pan out the way I'm interested in.
I watched Shigofumi back when it came out; the bullying episode sorta fits, but it focuses more on revenge than on remorse.
I tried Gekkou Chou, but yeah, it was just revenge and no remorse.
I tried Fever, but I can't really figure it out. Maybe the scanlation quality makes it hard for me to get into it? =/ I'll try out the official volumes if I can find them sold nearby.
Kasane also seems to be a remorseless type plot, but it's interesting in its own way, so thanks for suggesting it!
Any more suggestions please?

Probably Swweeet. This shit contains a bit of "tragedy" stuff.
A girl by the Sea. Well yeah, the MC-kun kinda into the breaking point.

Onani Master Kurosawa
There's bully there, there's blackmail/extortion, and (indirect) harassment.
And best of all.... (gotta read it to find out)
Most people would hesitate to read because of the TITLE, and the sketch art.
Its NOT Hentai, NOT Ecchi, NOT HENTAI.
Not Yuri, Not Yaoi, Not Smut.

I'm a bit iffy about the tragedy manga, but I'll take a look at them...
Onani Master Kurosawa doesn't really fit.
Thank you for your suggestions! Still looking for more.

Kurosawa feels remorse, but he didn't really drive anyone to a breaking point. The only one who did reach a breaking point was Kitahara, and while Sugawa does feel remorse about the bullying, it's still only a small part of the story (3 chapters out of 31).
The scene where she stabs her hand in front of the bullies is a great example of what I want as a breaking point, aside from the bullies being one-off characters and the remorse aspect not being shown.

I don't know if you're OK with anime suggestions or if you've watched this yet, but I think the Anime Mirai special Shiranpuri fits pretty well, since it's all about the remorse/regret from the part of the bystanders (though the main bully being remorseful is kind of iffy).
And this is kind of a stretch but Mozuya-san Gyakujousuru and Coulomb Fille might work.
Oh, and the second chapter of Hal (Makino Aoi) kind of fits too, I think.
I also want to say Gaussian Blur but there really is little to no remorse right now on the part of the bullies, and while it isn't a revenge manga necessarily, it also doesn't seem to be heading towards reconciliation anytime soon...

There's actually a great fit for what you want and it's in Hajime No Ippo. Obviously it's not the focus of the manga, but it is rather important in the story, and it is a sub-plot that happens over a long time.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The MC is bullied by a group of thugs repeatedly. He gets into boxing and there's a breaking point, not tragic but definitely dramatic. The main bully much later on admits he was at fault and regrets it (he's become his best friend meanwhile)

I'm surprised you didn't read Vitamin (SUENOBU Keiko)
The bullies don't seem to be remorseful... but they get their just desserts so... a happy end! yay! (Can't get everything you wish for.. sorry >_<)
Oops.. nevermind.. I checked in the wrong Completed list... (I was sure this was 18+, but... =3=)

@Suxin:
Ohh, a Young Animator Training Project anime. 8D I'll check it out. I'll look through the manga titles as well.
@oneeyed:
I watched Hajime no Ippo and was a big fan for a while. For this request though, the breaking point that I'm looking for should be tragic/negative. That said, I haven't read the manga yet, so I'll probably take a look at it anyway since I like the series. The story is very motivational.
@F_J:
Thanks for checking through my lists anyhow! The 18+ section is mostly for yaoi, yuri, hentai, and gory stuff. I consider Vitamin to have more of a 14+ age range.
@DXLEVE1:
I don't think Nozoki Ana fits at all...? I only read a few chapters and a full summary of the series, so I may have missed some things though. How in particular does it fit with the breaking point and remorse aspects?
Thank you all! Any more?
