The preview for the August issue of Kadokawa's Dengeki Maoh magazine is listing that Hon Morino's manga adaptation of Shinden Kanzaki's Black Bullet light novels will end in the issue, which is scheduled to be released in Japan on June 27. The preview hints at a "shocking and touching final chapter."

The story of Black Bullet revolves around the high-schooler Rentarō, a young man who has a superior, mysterious ability in an age of humans that fight against the Gastrea, a race of viral parasites. The story describes Rentarō's actions in a not too distant future.

Morino began the manga in 2012, and Kadokawa will ship the fourth compiled volume on June 26. Kanzaki began publishing the original novels under the Dengeki Bunko label with illustrations by Saki Ukai in July 2011, and ASCII Media Works shipped the sixth volume last October. An anime adaptation by Kinema Citrus premiered in April, and Crunchyroll is streaming the series outside of Japan. Sentai Filmworks has licensed the series for North American release.
