I'm tired of all the sparkly bishonen with their fabulous locks covering their faces. What are some male leads in shoujo that have short hair, or at least shorter than the average long-haired pretty boys? I don't care if they're still bishonen or considered attractive, I'm mostly concerned with the hair-style.

Post your favorites.

Hana no Namae
Sorairo Ageha
Ai Hime - Ai to Himegoto
Hapi Mari this one is Josei ...
Kare First Love
Sensei ni, Ageru.

Rensou Mode (oneshots from here on)
Akazukin to, Koisuru Ookami
S no Kaikoroku
Sora ni Haeru
Koi wa Beniiro
Puzzle (MORIE Satoshi)
No Title

I hope the hair is short enough. I know they aren't considered long, but some may a bit long for a male's hair.

A lot of those are actually what I'm trying to avoid, but there are some nice looking titles in there, so thanks for the suggestions.

I know this might be a tricky request considering it's quite popular in Japan for guys to have long hair and sometimes feminine qualities, and that idea is further highlighted in shoujo manga. But I'd love to read something that goes against the grain in terms of popular Japanese male fashion.

These are more along the lines of what I'm looking for. I've read the first two, but not the last one. It looks good, thanks!

Something more like the length in this manga S no Kaikoroku? or a buzzcut?
(I may have to search a bit more for those ...)

...you're right it's a bit tricky to find that type of hair in a shoujo ... I'll have to look some more at my lists.
If you're open to something that's not shoujo I name of a few of those.

(Will edit when I have some shoujo with very short hair.)

In Japan very short hair is usually associated afaik to guys seriously invested in sports. Remember how all these guys look in baseball/soccer/etc mangas ? This might be a hint for future searches.

For example here are 2 with the male lead in a baseball club, all with short hair :
Taiyou wa Kimi ni Kagayaku
Ootagawa Junjou Lovers

I get that sports cuts, and baseball ones in particular, tend to be short, but surely there's a middle ground between the baseball buzzes and the long shaggy locks you typically see males sporting (pun not intended) in shoujo.

That being said, I've got Ootagawa Junjou Lovers squarely on my radar, and I'll be reading it as soon as Matteiru releases the remaining chapter(s). Anxiously awaiting that one.

To clarify, I'm not necessarily looking for buzzcut-short (although that's fine, too) just something shorter than what you most often see for males in shoujo manga. S no Kaikoroku was one of the ones you listed that looked fine to me.

Try Hanazakari no Kimitachi e, perhaps...
Boku ni Natta Watashi?

Heads isn't shoujo, but I quite liked it...
The Friendly Winter isn't shoujo, but cute nonetheless.
Deadman Wonderland is also not shoujo... very violent as well, *very*, but a good series.

The dude in Chibi Vampire has short hair. It's a cute manga - don't read if you're looking for something thought provoking.

Matsuri Special as well. This manga also has a great female lead.

Ore-sama Teacher At least, the main guy does. If he is the main guy? I don't know. And by the same mangaka Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. It's technically shounen but it's constantly referencing (and parodying) shoujo tropes so. And it's getting an anime this summer.
Gakuen Babysitters Yep.

Some maybes:
Cheese in the Trap MU says it's josei but it's a webtoon so...
Men's Kou Not Maki, but Kamiki (and some of the other guys)
Principal Gen, post-haircut.
Dame na Watashi ni Koishite Kudasai josei, but Nakahara Aya (Love Com) is the mangaka so.

And story 7 in Sugars (YAMAMORI Mika). He features in story 4 too. Oh, and the guy in story 5 and story 8 works too. The stories are connected, by the way.

Uh, I can think of more that are josei/seinen but that's it for shoujo.... Which is a shame. I like short hair.
