Lets start this!. This novel has taken a rising in ranking starting may this year (2014). Its an awesome read for those who dont mind a pervert protagonist that keeps the gentleman face with others.

So far the latest translated volume at the date of this post is Volume 11, though volume 12 will be ready in a few days (editing and stuff).

Try to dont mind the past of the protagonist to much, he will get better and better in all kind of aspects as the novel goes on. He tries to lead the best possible life with all his might too.

Now lets speak of the volume 13 (first 4 chapters)
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
So far rudeus has rescued roxy from the dungeon she was trapped for 1 month, the state she was bad so they had to retreat let her recover. But this leads to the question about zenith, since she has been in the dungeon for 7+ years. It was learned by gisu that she was discovered in the dungeon 2+ years after the teleportation incident, and roxy confirmed that she was alive thanks to kirishika's Eyes powers 4+ after the incident. so somehow she has been alive in the dungeon for 6+ years at least. When rudeus arrives at the dungeon it has been around 7+ years(the time when he rescues roxy). So something odd is going on here. There is a high posibility that she was possesed by a demon or something similar so im expecting that rudeus might have to kill her to let her rest in peace O.o

I agree with your assessment of Zenith.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Of course, it's possible that Zenith just went into beast mode and survived like Roxy did but that doesn't explain why Roxy wouldn't just escape if she could survive so easily. Not to mention that if she was just surviving all 7 years, then it would be a letdown story-telling-wise. Also, if Rudi has to kill Zenith, then that would explain the resentment that the human god was talking about as well as the fact that the resentment is still the same after waiting for two years. I just hope that Sylphy doesn't die. Rudi was talking about his "rose-colored life" and whenever that kind of life is brought up, authors have tendency to ruin it for some conflict.

Also, can we talk about the novel in general? I like how adult it is. People (including the MC) actually have sex, cheat, and kill each other mercilessly. I'm not one who get giddy over these adult subjects but it's nice to see that they aren't ignored as they are in so many other series. The drama is also done pretty convincingly. The fight between Rudi and Paul when they reunited was completely believable and conveyed each side's emotions. That said, I wish there were less chaperones. I know Rudi is just 15 (16?) now but he is mentally much older. The novel is supposed to be about starting over and living earnestly but when you always have Ghislaine, Ruijerd, or the human god watching over you, I feel like Rudi has been living on a cushion his whole life. By the time he was by himself, he could already take care of a dragon single-handedly. I wish there were more exciting fights
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
like the one with Orsted
where Rudi is actually challenged and has to find a way to grow and overcome his limits.

Finally, what do you think the human god is after?
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
His primary antagonist seems to be Orsted. Could it be that he's raising Rudi to take on Orsted. Could the human god have had a hand in bringing Rudi and Nanahoshi to the magic world? His first appearance in Rudi's dreams was after the mana catastrophe, after all

@Sircus: Sorry, since the OP mentioned discussing volume 12, I thought there would be no spoilers beyond that point.

I've read up to chapter 7 in volume 14 and I can say that it does get better. There's also one more thing for Norn to be angry about when they get back home though.

...Starting to realize that "latest chapter discussion" or even "latest volume discussion" doesn't really work when the translated chapters are all over the place.

Well, in BT, the chapters are all over the place, but recently all chapters in between have been translated in pastebin, so you can go read those there.
With those you can read up to volume 17 chapter 4.... http://pastebin.com/ihQtsdBq

Now chapter the last chapter of volume 15 and all volume 16 was WOOOOOOOOOOOW.... i cried, laughted, anger filled my chest, despaired... volume 15 and 16 place all you sentiments all over the place... its a first for me to get so many emotions so fast eek .

Now after volume 17 WAR is coming!!!! and rudeus will be in the front line eek eek eek

Yes, I've just caught up to chapter 172 and I have to say, the story is in a much better place than it was about 20 chapters ago. The novel really needed turning point 4. We finally have an over-arching goal and plot! Before, it was just Rudi bumbling around in whichever way the wind blew with the vague goal of "living life seriously" but now I can't wait for the next chapter because Rudi is actually fighting seriously and trying to accomplish something and there are dire consequences for failure.

Turning Point 4 and how Hitogami threatened Rudi to kill Orsted really like a direct punch in the head. I mean, in the first confrontation with Orsted, fighting Hydra and duel with Atofe's group….. I knew he wouldn't die in any of those since he's the MC so I have nearly zero concerns about them but this one?

It's not a concern about him dying but rather, about how Hitogami will manipulate the people around him to betray him. And Hitogami being the heart of the Void World, that just makes it worse. He's an enemy that you can't reach no matter how powerful you are.
When Future Rudi said that "I can fly, I regrown my limbs, I can manipulate gravity, I can even go into the past…. but I can't reach him." Now that's really an enemy that could make me feels insecure whether or not Rudi can deal with what he throws at him.

Throughout the novel, even though the have their share of dark moments, they still have this "Everyday Life" chapter so when a guy who can see the future and manipulates people suddenly become your enemy, it really screw you. I'm kinda afraid of his power to enter people's dream and manipulate them since Rudi basically can't trust anyone else except his family. Not even Zanoba and Cliff. Damn.
What makes me nervous is because volume 20 and 21 is dedicated to Zanoba and Cliff, so I really don't wanna see them being screwed over by that mosaic-faced swindler.

Yes, it is truly terrifying to have "god" as your enemy. The way Roxy died in the hopefully avoided future was horrible. What are you supposed to do against that? Even if Rudi became powerful enough to defeat Orsted, it is still no guarantee that the human god won't cause something similar to happen in the future. Now, everyday means something because someone close to Rudi might die Final Destination style.

The way Roxy died, yea since she knows she will die and she can do nothing but wait for Rudi who's too late to save her.
But Sylphi was way more brutal. I mean, her body being chopped up and displayed for the crowds to see and throw stones at them…. damn, that's just like Chelsea all over again.

Well, what I meant about "Everyday Life" chapter is more like Rudi's happy and relaxed moments, just living his life to the fullest (which is his goal) and then suddenly Hitogami threatens to screw that happy life. The transition is somewhat drastic. Hell, I wasn't prepared when I read the Future Diary so I got caught off guard a bit.

It's true that it's difficult to imagine another "every-day-life" chapter until the Human God is dealt with (which won't happen until the end) but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. If this is what we have to sacrifice in order to obtain some plot and story, then I'm all for it.

I am curious about everyday-life with three wives though...

Honest question: who do you think will die from now on?
