Mushoku Tensei (Novel)
Mushoku Tensei - Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu
The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor (Novel) <--- Siiiick stuff really love it
Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (novel)

My fellow MU members as i've been reading on stories, that's been listed above.
what i like about them, is the gamer mind, where he ranks his ability with others, where his a magician & swordsman, combinations of spells and weak to strong, but wise.(what i don't like is his hornyness) nothings perfekt i guess)
MC = main character

I would be glad if it's light noval(not manga)

Everything doesn't need to be precisly like these points, they are only what i would prefer.
Strong points :
Lots of Volumes out already
Gamer mind (he/she is very focused on what she's training on
RPG (but reality) <--- Virtual reality
leveling up system
Sword and magic (combined)
Magician (MC must be)
Weak to strong or Strong from start
awekning in power
fantasy world with dragons elfs etc
Dungeons
treasures !! Gold ARGH
master mind (RPG)

Harem (dont want) but if it's a must then ok

bad points:
Shoujo,
weak minded mc
blood rushed simpel minded fool..

I hope you have an understanding of what i'm aiming for, i know there's other topic similare to this, but most of the answers are already read. and very very few of the recommendations are Light novals. so i hope with this thread, there will be more Light noval recommendations.

Your friend voodoo.

Maybe you're aware of this link, but someone on Batoto compiled a list of light novels/webnovels with this gaming/RPG/fantasy theme.

Not sure if you've read these but these light novels:
The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor (Novel)
Ark (Novel)
Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou (Novel)

Ark is very similar to moonlight sculptor, a bit darker.

Arifureta is a nice read too.

While the first two are video game based, the third is a transport to magic world story with game-like stats.

Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (novel) -> although most of it is translated work by Bakahou and not "officially" released but is in "preview", they chapters are completely translated and readable. Also the current chapter it is on right now is PURE JUSTICE, and KARMA.

Honorable mentions on that batoto list:

Knight's and magic -> translated by SkytheWood, only 1 volume out, no leveling or stat based, it's reincarnation to magic/mecha, and has a strong, hardworking, genius-type main.

Aside from those that I follow religiously for updates, I haven't found anything else worth reading.

Only Sense Online (Novel) is pretty nice~♪
volumes out: 2 * Gamer mind * RPG * Leveling up system * Magician * Weak to strong * bows and magic (does that count?)
a slow building series. while the main character is inferior to other characters in a lot of ways; the way he goes about things make a lot of his abilities broken / very strong.
While everyone acknowledges him as a strong versatile character, he's not OP by any standard,
he's not the best at combat or at crafting, but he has potential... he will probably eventually overtake them.

Log Horizon (Novel) is one of my favorites~♥
volumes out: 7 * RPG * Leveling up system * Magician * Strong from the start * mastermind
This is probably not something you're looking for but I'll mention it anyway.
In this, the users of a game (that is not Virtual reality) are sucked into it during an expansion release night, and thus have to learn to live and grow there~.
Not much leveling and getting stronger,
(though they get to that with some of the main characters, the newbie main characters in particular)
it more deals with pk problems and npc politics.

Sword Art Online (Novel)
This ones pretty popular...just got it's second anime last season...
I'm not even going to explain it since you've probably read it already... and if not, Baka-tsuki dropped it after it got licensed so~

other than that, good groups to follow for this sort of genre are Japtem (Korean translations) and Re:Translations (Japanese Translations) as you probably know from the other's suggestions

Funny. I am waiting for those chapters to come out as well so I can read Vol 20. Still, I've reached a end to my quest so far and haven't found anything else to read.

same here, but i'm kinda new to LN so i have a couple left, but i'm kind of turnd off on reading so many LN at the same time, i rather marathon one Ln at the time.

there seems to be few works completed & translated in LN.
I'm trying to find good books in my local area.

Hmmm Re:translations has a lot with the whole rpg feel... the only thing is some of them have the same mindset as Rudeus from mushoku tensei (it's not as bad as his though) so if you're not bothered by the ecchiness then head on over to Re:Translations homepage

um... of course Japtem has some too x'D

Although this story isn't based on a character going to a virtual reality and or using one, the character's world has the fantasy set up of a virtual reality. It also only has roughly 1 volume translated Tsuyokute @ tensaitranslations

Hmm.. this is all i can think of from that top of my head but since i'm looking for the same kind of stuff, if i happen to find more i'll update this post x'D Also as of yet, there are not a lot of light novels in this genre sad

p.s soz for the bad english, there's no school so i don't want to think about correct grammar biggrin

@VOoDOoCold
I thought this way too... but trust me, reading loads at the same time can ensure that you won't run out as fast later!! I regret doing marathons for all the light novels that i have read cause now i have nothing to read that can last me at least a couple of days... remember light novels don't get translated like water running out of a tap <--lol that simile though...if it even is one?! ( . _ . ") well that's just my opinion.

Quote from Vudoodude

Oh, i didn't know that you could find translations there! Most of the ones i read were from baka-tsuki.

@Raedean I know sad i've been looking like a maniac after The legendary moonlight sculpture +21
only bing/google translation and they are horrible, unreadble and just confusing.
I read that japtem will not pursue in translating after vol 17 LMS due to author.
Seems like Royal road will also stop after they fixed the missing 6-7-8-9-10 for vol 19..(20 already translated though) but I hope they wont. they wrote that they will give us new information 31/10 about this action.

I love the author for making such a good work but i hate him at the same time for telling japtem/royalroad to stop translating after 20. WHY GIVE US THE FREAKING TASTE OF IT, THEN TAKING IT AWAY FROM US!. (sorry for caps)

I've looked into Japtem's work
same with baka tsuki and royal road. and i agree with you, there are very few works done with this genre.
Ah man... i love leveling and finding loot etc becoming lord owning stuff. LMS was like a diamond for me. I'm even forcing my self to learn korean.. but it's going slow.
