The relationships in CLAMP`s works - Seishiro loves Subaru but can`t help hurting him Tokyo Babylon(the variation Seishiro chaising after Kamui and Subaru in Tsubasa Cronicles). A complicated relationship with the sense of patronization toward someone weaker but dear. In the example above Seishiro being the patronizing bully and Subaru/Kamui the victims of misguided affection.
The bully character could be replaced with positive variation like teasing big bro with siscom(Card Captor Sakura) or a mentor like character(D.Gray-Man - Allen and General Cross), maybe even bad best friend... etc. The important thing is to keep the playfulness of the relationship and it to not be called entirely good, or entirely bad. Still the darker the example the better
Basically looking for a mentor like character with tease/bully personality with the variations .
If you could think of titles with this type of character teasing/bulling puppylover couple you`ll be gold
Examples:
Basara - Shuri`s brother - the Blue king, kind of remind me. He doesn`t really particularly hate or love Shuri and at some point start having some feeling for Sasara. His affections are very complicated and he is comfused with them. He knows whats going on for much longer than most of the other characters thus becoming the puppeter behind the scenes. But his actions seem more like mild teasing - he remind of a child looking for attention.
Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro - this one is more straight forward. At the beginning Neuro just bully Yako, at the end he bully her but there is this sense of trust between them from which grows the whole NeuroXYako fanship.
Ludwig Kakumei - Ludwig is complicated character. He bully his servant, sometimes act like villian, sometimes helps. Well this is a bit of parody but still that`s what I am looking for.
Erotic Fairy Tales - Yes the pervy ones. The magician is pretty familiar to Ludwig. Only he seem a bit more down to earth.
Cavalier of the Abyss - The Regis act coldhearted but there are hinds here and there that he cares for his family quite a lot.
