This week's poll comes from our member jacob66. The idea here is that you're following a long series that doesn't seem to end. What would you prefer to do? While we're at it, anyone decide to start over Naruto from the beginning since it finally ended?

You can submit poll ideas here (and try to keep them manga/anime-related)
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=3903

Previous Poll Results:
Question: Do you read the extras / omake in manga?
Choices:
Always - votes: 3272 (32.6%)
Most of the time - votes: 3765 (37.5%)
Half the time - votes: 1424 (14.2%)
Seldom - votes: 1290 (12.8%)
Never - votes: 298 (3%)
There were 10049 total votes.
The poll ended: December 20th 2014

All you scanlators out there, don't forget to translate the extras!

I usually read as long as i find it good and once it get too boring i quit until the manga is done.
That's what i did with Naruto.
I have a pretty good memory, so i can quit a manga for years and still remember enough to not be completely lost when i start rereading the manga again and lot of thing i forgot come back when i start reading little by little.

I'm somehow reminded of the comment section of Bleach on Mangastream laugh
If it's a very long series and it's published weekly, I'll keep reading it unless it gets too boring.

Hmm...I Keep reading as long it's good ...^^

Though, I believe, by Long Ongoing Series [LOS] it meant somewhat, a series with 400+ chapters...
Well, I've not encountered a LOS too boring to get frustrated with it...And Believe me my completed and currently Reading list isn't too short...
though, I'm getting a bit bored reading Bleach nowadays...though, it will take time to have a blast...My boiling point is quite high, you see...

So, ? Keep reading since you're already so invested ? and ? Keep reading as long it's good ?, doesn't makes that much of a difference for me at the moment ~!

@lambchopsil - Not, Actually...To busy to do so atm...and not actually, really interested in reading all 700 chapters of Naruto atm !!

I used to drop almost immediately when i hated something but would keep going if i was too deep into to let go or a manga was widely read. Bleach, or Conan, or poular shonen battle fighty screamfest brand XY helped me to drop a series i disliked no matter how far i was into. Thank you Mr. Tite.
So now i keep reading as long it's good but if something get´s stuck in suck mode or is just a gears grinding money printer then i just don´t care even if it is more popular then Jesus. So One Piece could be next on my drop list even if i have been reading it for 13(!?!) years. I am not a stockholm victing dear Shueisha. I may continue for a minimal amount if i can feel that some form of (character)arc is ending to be even more content with my ending point but we are talking about 1-3 chapters at the most.
My tip to all the weekly bestselling mangas is this. Take a Hiatus x Hiatus. It really helps with keeping the narrative from going stale and your family will appreciate it. Does Oda even know know how the inside of his house looks like when he closes his eyes ?
@lambchopsil I flipped through part 1 of Naruto last month and had fun(Hinata looking at Naruto in secret when he finally left stuck out to me) but stopped naturally after a few volumes in post timeskip. I wonder why bigrazz ?

For me a long series is more than 12 volumes. I read it as long as it is good, however I do also try outs. This will say, I check the first chapter of a series, if it is good it comes on a hold list, if it's bad I won't continue it. I read those on a hold list some later when I'm not in the mood for searching some good series.

I chose "After a certain point, just stop and wait for it to finish then read the entire thing at once", although it's a little bit different in reality. XD

I did the same thing with Naruto, and maybe later with BLEACH or One Piece if they're going to end.
For Fairy Tail, since I've already invested too much, I keep reading it although recently it's quite boring. Same thing with Detective Conan, I read it but skip most part containing common cases and only focus on cases with Black Organization. *kicked*

I just drop them altogether. Oftentimes when series get translated slowly, I just never read them again. If there's a lot of stuff out when I start reading, I read everything there is without stopping. Rarely bothered to read any if there's like a chapter every month or half a year or a volume every 2 years etc.

I will read a long story as long as it keeps me interested.
Although there's case i put them off for awhile because i want to read them in one go type
This is especially for series that get updated when the scanlation team feel like updating...
Lead to i forgot about it because i want to wait for it to have more chapter Xd

I usually keep going, even if it's going through a bad patch. They're always going to have a few bad patches aren't they.

As for re-reading Naruto, haha yeah I'm doing that but slowly. I pick the next volume from the shelf and read it when I feel like it. Man, how many bad patches did we have to go through in Naruto to finally reach the end eh XD But I'm glad I stuck with it until the end. Saved a lot of "I can't remember what's happening, need to re-read" moments.

Most of the time I just keep on reading. I like ongoings and sometimes even want for them to go on forever. Though several mangas I kinda stopped reading in the middle because they became boring, but that is only around 20%

There is a reason why I read only completed mangas that are completely translated, or at least available in another language that I can understand.

Unless it's a really good yuri manga I usually just wait for a good chunk of new chapters to come out and then reread the whole thing with the new content. Then I wait a while and reread again. And again. As long as it remains good. Otherwise I just drop it at some point.

I voted "After a certain point..." because it seemed the closest. But sheesh poll, get your act together and have correct options to select.

I add series to my reading list with the intention of reading chapters as soon as they are released. I only stop reading when my preferred group is stalled or I simply forget. I very, very rarely drop an ongoing series, so when I do that means I think it really sucks (yes, I'm looking at you, Bleach).
