hi everyone, I would like to ask if you know some scifi/dystopian/future dystopian manga/graphic novel in a totalitarian setting.

totalitarianism is a political system where in the government (or even higher than the government) holds total authority in a society where people cant oppose to it.

Preferably seinen and completed. But any other genres are welcome.

Thank you everyone!

Full Metal Alchemist - Not exactly totalitarian, but it depicts the Elric Brothers going against a certain someone in the government.

One Piece - Its Monkey D Luffy vs the Pirates vs the one-world Government

Can't think of any overtly totalitarian manga off the top of my head, but if you're interested in dystopias in general, there's:

Mother Keeper -- has rebel armies of impoverished outsiders trying to bring down the walled paradise inhabited by the government and upper class. I love that this manga isn't as black and white as you'd expect from that setup. wink [10 volumes/complete but not totally scanlated]

Husk Eden -- haven't read too far into this one yet, but there's wars, child soldiers, and a pretty grim and tragic atmosphere. It's shoujo, but according to the tags, it's also "Borderline Seinen." laugh [3 volumes/ongoing]

No. 6 -- has a pretty messed up government system, though I can't remember the details. I couldn't really get into this one, but a lot of people seem to like it. Fair warning: While it's not explicitly BL, there are some slashy undertones. [9 volumes/complete but not totally scanlated]

I also suggest you peruse the "Dystopia" tag and maybe the "Cyberpunk" tag if you want something gritty and futuristic. wink
