While I have started to read almost only novels now I don't really mind, but It seems like novels have finally started to over take manga a bit. Wuxia (Chinese fantasy Light novels) are one of the main contributors to the growth of novels. I'm also seeing less and less manga series, do any of you know why this is? Is it just the death of old scanlation groups and less and less new ones or something else? I know part of the reason has to be companies on both sides of the world going after scanlation more and more. I also think there are less and less series out to be picked-up. 2 of the big 3 are ending or over and classics like Rumiko Takahashi's and Ken Akamatsu's work has mostly been translated already.

Rather a decrease in manga series, it’s probably just the amount of novels being translated that makes you feel this way. Novels are way simpler to work on and can be done by a single person, no need to search for a team. Hence why we have so many novel releases.

Indeed. I'm often tempted to go into LN translations just so I wouldn't have to depend on others.

Well, I think there has been a slight decrease in overall scanlation as well, if you disregard the new style legit scanlations that are now reported on MU.
