It has been brought to me attention, by seeing it with my own eyes as well as other people telling me, that people are being harassed here on MU in private messages, now, i am not an admin or a mod, but this must be said....

Harassment is still Harassment, regardless of whether your "joking" or if its not face to face.

its still just as serious, and just as rude and disrespectful, regardless of the situation.

I know this will be locked, very quickly, but hopefully, it gets the point across, that people here at MU will not tolerate Harassment.

And, let this be said, that IF you Are being harassed, regardless of being online or otherwise, it needs to be taken care of, it is extremely disrespectful, and extremely offensive.

To answer anyones questions,

No, if you know what i am talking about, you are not tell who was being harassed, or who was doing the harassing, unless that person gives it the ok, themselves

and the issue talked about HERE is the PM harass SOMEONE is running in this forum.
^_^ appearently, SOMEONE invites people to his who knows howmany pages PM convo, and flames them there.
now, i didnt recieve that invite, but some people i know did, and from what I heard, even after they tried to get out of there, that SOMEONE brought them BACK ^_^.
i dont like hearing of these stuff over my morning coffee, and i believe it will be taken care of soon by the mods, since they recieve the pms regarding the issue.
i wont say any names here, since i am not directly involved, but i believe we all know who im talking about!

I would have to agree, harassment, in any form, on this site is completely unacceptable. Just because it's a "private" message doesn't give you free reign to say thing you wouldn't be allowed to in a normal thread. People come here expecting a certain level of respect, if not maturity, and if some one is talking down, flaming, or otherwise demeaning others I think they should be dealt with swiftly and as harshly as possible.

it would be nice if everyone will express their opinions of this subject, and if they know, of the person who's sending the pms, since we are trying to get him banned from the forum completely by the mods.

hmm it's never happened to me, but harassing is a DICK move =/ there should be some severe punitive measures for it

PM harassment on MU has happened before to such a degree that also called for attention. And we all know what happened afterwards. Well, some of us do anyway...Some of you weren't here at the time...

I'm amazed this kind of stuff still happens.
...and here I was hoping people on the internet FINALLY learned to behave. The only explanation I have for this is that some people really have nothing better to do <_<

I'm thinking of some kind of ignore function, like a personal blacklist of users (that's the easiest sollution coding-wise I can think of). Kinda like Yahoo messenger's ignore function smile

It's a shame that there are people who act this way. If banning doesn't solve this problem for those who are being harassed then maybe we will need an ignore function like HeavennevaeH suggested.

I say just ban them, if we give them the option of being allowed to do it, even in small amounts, they will, repeatedly, until it happens anyway.
