I'm not sure which manga it is, but it is more than like published by Shogakukan, and possibly published in the same magazine, Sho-comi. Sorry I can't be of more help. If I find it, I'll post it.

Might be Maruoka-san Chi no Kyouikugakari. Has the same publisher & magazine and the art/characters match up.

I thought the same at first, but I don't think that is it. I think it's one that's similar, but not that one in particular. The Sho-comi magazine that Julia shows is for 2010 New Years. The manga that Julia is looking for is advertised to be newly commissioned. Maruoka-san Chi no Kyouikugakari was published in 2009. So, unless it was published in December or something, I don't think that's it.

Darn, I missed the dates part of it. I did scan through the manga, but couldn't find a scene with the girl's hair tied up and the guy wearing a yukata. It did look like the relationship matched though, with the 'X' being drawn on her forehead in the reference picture and in the the manga, the guy being her 'etiquette instructor'. The time between the first 2009 release and last chapter release could have been 1-2 years so it ended up in 2010, but that seems unlikely considering the short length of the series. Oh well.

Hahahaha. Actually, you are right. After doing a bit more digging, the first chapter of Maruoka-san Chi no Kyouikugakari was published in the December 2009 issue. Meaning that while the first official publication was in 2009, later chapters and the manga itself was published in 2010. So yes, the manga is Maruoka-san Chi no Kyouikugakari.
